Great room - huge and big bathroom. Perfect for longer stay. Amazing choice for breakfast, really good value. Staff a bit 'corporate', nervous of showing any personality but all helpful enough.
Surrounding area does not offer much but very convenient for centre with choice of 2 metro stations: el Carmen at door and ventas only 5 min walk away at bullring.there in April so too early for air conditioning. Room a bit warm for Northern Europeans.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by location. Proximity to metros makes,up for this.

Dear guest
Thank you for choosing to stay at the Rafaelhoteles Ventas Hotel. It is wonderful to learn you liked our room and breakfast and your stay was very comfortable. Unfortunately the aircon is not working in winter in Madrid due to the low temperatures outside.
Thank you for review and recommendation.
We hope to serve you again.
Best Regards.

Read a few of the latest reviews and most of them sum up this hotel perfectly. We were there to see the football, yes it was not within walking distance however transport is so easy in Madrid that it was not a problem. Actually it was quite nice to be out of the hustle and bustle as someone else has described. The hotel itself is very clean, adequate space and facilities in the rooms plus a great shower. If you go all the way to Madrid to watch the TV then you need to get out! Breakfast, there is quite a lot of choice although i'm not a big eater in the mornings so i passed. Staff were friendly and actually thought they spoke quite good English. The only slight downside was that there was no A/C during the winter months however it was quite warm which meant the rooms were quite hot for the time of year. This lead to us having the windows open which didnt help the noise situation. As i said we were there to watch Real Madrid so we weren't in the hotel much, and this hotel is perfect for that, decent sleep and a lovely shower and off you go! (thought the bathroom was very excellent). Yes it is on the main road and was quite noisy, even out the back. Perfectly located to 2 entrances to El Carmen metro station and only a 10 minute walk down the hill to Ventas Metro station (opposite the bull ring), if you want to take a direct line to Sol, what seemed the main nightlife in Madrid. If you do go to Sol check out a bar called el Solido, lovely little bar with great staff. If you come out of the hotel and turn right, about 30 yards down the hill is a karaoke bar, very random however half 1 in the morning after a few drinks it seems a good idea to ruin a few songs and mix with the locals! Apparently they don't get many tourists in there so appreciated our custom however bad the singing! All in all this hotel has fantastic facilities in a nice area with great transport links, highly recommend.

Room Tip: No A/C in winter so get a back room where you can have the windows open without the hustle and bustl...

hotel was fine but because it was booked after a search engine said it was close to the real madrid football ground we were very disapointed to find it was over 5 km away . with a disabled friend this was not really acceptable for us , not the hotels fault

Room Tip: dont book if wanting city center or football ground

I was in a business trip in Madrid and have chosen the hotel, because it was closed to the office I came to . In general I liked it. Big room where you can easily fit one more bed for the third person and still have enough space. Big bathroom. For the breakfast I would expect more choice. No vegetables. No natural jougurts. Big choice of bakeries,Restourant and bar have nice interior with big pictures (1,5mx2m) on the walls and it creates an impression that you are in a museum. Most of the rooms are faced the street and there is some noise coming from there. But honestly it did not disturb me too much.
Wifi connection is free for the first 24 hours. You need to ask reception for the password.

Room Tip: There are some rooms facing a side street so you might ask for such a room. It is less noisy.

My family and I were on a Cosmo tour and we stood here for two nights. I liked this hotel. It was close to the metro and we were able to get to the main attractions quickly. The hotel staff was very nice and the food was okay. We did not come on this tour expecting extravagant suites, so we our expectations for the hotels were not so high and this one was just chilled. I would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to family and friends.

The hotel is not near the main attractions of Madrid. The bus is easy to take, but it's not worth it to stay in this hotel if you want to see the downtown area of Madrid. I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It's a very simple hotel. There isn't anything special about it. It is clean room with a minibar. The noise from the street was too much if you opened the window which I had to because the AC took a while to kick on to cool, but the room was quiet other than that.
I had a single room with a small twin size bed and a terrible pillow but somehow managed to sleep anyway. The bathroom is small but clean.
The bull fighting arena is a short 5 minute walk from the hotel but is the only attraction in the area. There is a grocery store just down the street and some nice little restaurants as well.
There is an in room safe, but I had to keep looking up the instructions on how to open it - a little complicated at first.
Breakfast was nice and had an average selection of items. Mostly pastries and deli meat and cheese.
I wouldn't stay here again. The stay I had was fine I would just prefer something closer to the attractions of Madrid.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, the room size was pretty good and so was the bathroom size.
It is close to the Bull ring. There are a lot of shops in the same street as the hotel and the local fruit, vege and fish market a couple of streets away. Internet was free for up to 1 hour per day but you had to use it all at once. We found an 'all you can eat' restaurant 2 streets down on the right and on the left hand side called Val's for 12 euro's, we had dinner there both nights.
