This is great value for money, quite near to everything and the rooms are way bigger than most, including a little kitchen. Suite Prado Hotel is on a little back street amongst little restaurants and tapas bars. The amazing Prado museum is an easy 10 mins walk away and Puerto del Sol (the main hub where shops abound) is10 mins in the other direction. As reported wifi is not awesome, but I was happy to sit on the stairs or in certain spots in our room on the 3rd floor. Staff friendly and you can get by with their limited English. We used an app called SayHi which helped. The rooms are perfectly clean, have marvellous windows that open with little balconies a lá Paris. I really like the boutique hotel charm and was happy to spend the money I saved on other things including a fabulous meal and flamenco show at Corral de la Moreria.

We recently stayed for nine days at the Suite Prado and we could not have been happier with our pick. The room and bathroom were exceptionally large and kept extremely clean. The kitchen wasn't really meant for cooking (but who goes to Madrid to cook?), but it has a microwave and refridgerator which is handy for morning coffee and rolls. The only problem is that you have to take a quick shower due to small hot water tanks in the hotel, but that is very typical of any small hotel in Europe. The location could not be better in any way. It is located within walking distance of practically all of the major sites and if you go father afield, the taxis are numerous and reasonably priced. There are lots of bars and cafes to choose from and do go to the one across from the hotel called Bar-Cafe Tronco. It is a local's "watering hole" with some very good home-made tapas! The hotel staff are truly helpful and pleasant with anything that you need. Thanks to all of you! When we return to Madrid the Suite Prado will be our hotel of choice.

Room Tip: The suite superior rooms are the roomiest. We were on the first floor and I suppose if you are an e...

We stayed at this hotel for four days and recommend it to everyone. It is clean, safe and in the walking distance to all parts of the city.It doesnt offer any breakfast but the price is very good for that location. It is 1 min away from St. Anna and all the restaurants and cafes. It is also literally 3 min away from Puerto del Sol. We stayed in the third floor and had a lot of space in both rooms. The bathroom is a bit little but not a big deal. Check in and out was fast, the receptionists were very helpful.

Stayed a couple night for a business trip, wasn't a first choice as not close to the place I had to go, BUT, location is great to enjoy the Spanish movida, with numerous bars and restaurant and quite a lively animation.
Room was spacious, clean with recent furniture, and quite classy should I say.
Electrical switches worked randomly though and there's only 100l hot water stock, which is tiny if anyone enjoys a bath.

Room Tip: Avoid room on the street during summer, Spanish live late and you might need to catch an early plane

3 friends, incuding myself, stayed here for 3 nights in October 2012. The family suite was perfect for our group. Hotel IS very difficult to locate if you are not familiar with the area. So obtain a super detailed route to the hotel BEFORE you leave, as several taxis couldn't find it.

The hotel itself has a modern decor. It is very centrally located to all the major sites. You have to turn in your key to the clerk each time you leave the hotel. The hotel provides bath and hand towels, but no face cloths.

Thought the hotel was a good value at about $245 per person but it could have at least provided free coffee and/or breakfast at that price. Even so, the location was excellent.

We booked the hotel for three nights in late September. Though the taxi driver had difficulty finding the hotel -- it is in the center of Madrid's oldest area, we found the hotel and the staff to be welcoming and friendly. I would have given it 5 starts if it had had more in the way of cooking utensils.

The layout of our room was a comfortable large living room, with a kitchenette. Through a separate door there was a full size bedroom. The hotel has wonderfully high ceilings. Our room had three of the Juliet balconies I so love, and when we had the windows closed it was quiet. The bathroom was large, comfortable and clean. We would happily stay there again.

We booked 5 nights at Suite Prado and we love it. I admit we were upgraded but I think tithe standard rooms would have met our expectation. There is no grand entrance - just a doorway and corridor to the friendly receptionist. There is a lift but we were on the first floor. The double glazing would be good enough to keep out street noise for all but the lightest sleeper. Comfortable bed, full bathroom with good shower, large sitting room. No English tv channels but who cares? There is a small grocer nearby to get your juice and coffee. And a baker 100 m away. The area is full of bars and restaurants. Try El Lacon next door. We'll be coming here again.
