“Great location”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

This hotel was the first leg of our trip and even though it was small it was clean and comfortable and centrally located. In the morning my Starbucks was around the corner and the metro also.Walking distance to everything from shops to restaurants and museums .I found most people in Spain were rude or not friendly so i'm not going to mention the staff.

Stayed 2 nights in late May...room was fine for me since I planned to only sleep there. The location was great, lots of shopping, restaurants, etc. Room was fine for the price. Yes, the clerks were mostly rude. Probably would not return and not recommend.

Room Tip: Go for the high floors to avoid street noise. I stayed on 8 and not much noise.

We stayed here in June 2014. A good location and the hotel was reasonably clean and comfortable but the staff were unfriendly, not to say rude (when we left and said goodbye they didn't even bother answering) and unhelpful. In the three other hotels where we stayed in Spain wifi was free. Here it cost 4€ an hour, 10€ a day, which is ridiculous.

Nice location, awful experience. The toilet did not work-got fixed after some sarcasm, air conditioning did not work; room safe did not work; broken chair and chipped glass in room. 10 euros for wi-fi (sporadic reception). In the halls, the carpet covered a creaking wood floor and the carpet was dirty. A sullen aspect to some of the staff.

We stayed here in April, 2014. It was hot outside, but there was no air conditioning. We were told that the government did not allow it to be turned on until May 1, but we later found out this was not true and only applied to government buildings. The internet rarely worked. We had to rely on a signal from the hotel across the street. The air conditioning/heat control on the wall was only for decoration. Everything was controlled by the hotel. Everything is extra. The internet service which was practically nonexistent was 10 euros a day; the gym with only four pieces of equipment was 6 euros a day. If we had internet service, we would have used it to look for a new hotel. The rooms that face the interior had no ventilation and were dark, old, and dingy. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel.

I stayed here for the night on a business trip, we picked the hotel primarily because it was inexpensive and centrally located and I'd stay there again in future. As well as being in the heart of the shopping district it's also right by the Gran Via metro station - 3 stops from barrio La Latina for great tapas and easy to get to a host of other further out areas.

The room was fairly spacious, very clean and in a good state of repair, the beds are basic but comfortable and the bathroom likewise was clean and well maintained if understandably no-frills.

The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful and overall I'd recommend the hotel as a good choice for somewhere well-located and not too draining on the wallet.

For dinner get Line 5 from Gran Via metro, go 3 stops to La Latina and enjoy great tapas on Calle Cava Baja, you'll be glad you did..

Stayed at this hotel for a weekend trip, incorporating football. The hotel is in a good location, just 5 mins from Sol main train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice although our requested double was 2 singles pushed together, The bathroom was nice and clean but the shower was not powerful enough, like a light drizzle. all in all a nice hotel for a weekend break.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 205 2nd floor which was ok
