“Absolutely wonderful and memorable experience + very good staff!”
Reviewed June 16, 2012

our first hotel on our Spain tour, it was an amazing experience. Its very clean, beautiful and has an extremely wonderful and helpful staff (which is a very good plus point especially if u r traveling with a child). its a great value for money option and is better than even some of the 4* hotels u come across in Spain..

only thing is - theres no porter.. so u have to carry all ur luggage by urself.. but all in all its a fantastic experience. The staff takes really good care of u at all times! Wonderful and memorable experience!

Room Tip: breakfast could be better..

By getting a triple, it is actually two rooms. The couch converts to a bed and it is the MOST comfortable convertible bed I have ever seen; and easy to put away when you want the couch. Just two little blocks down from the South entrance of the Tetuan Metro stop and there is a real Market nearby as well as lots of little ones for breakfast if you want to avoid the hotel's, which at 6euro is a bit high for a family.

I went to a conference in Madrid, the conference hotel was Melia Castilla in the north part of Madrid. I decided to stay in a cheaper hotel to stay a couple of more days. IT WAS WORTH IT! The hotel was really an small apartment with kitchen, a living room and a good size room and bathroom. They have a fast wifii internet, and it was one block away to the Tetuan Metro station. The people was friendly and very helpful I absolutely recommend this wonderful hotel

The rooms are comfy and spacious, good for families. We had two bedrooms, a cupboard kitchenette and good sized bathroom. The staff were helpful and friendly, recommending good places to eat nearby. On the downside, it's a little way from the tourist attractions of Madrid, but the metro is nearby, easy to use and cheap. Overall we thought the hotel was excellent value for money. Suspect you could be unlucky and get noisy neighbours, but our room was very quiet.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room, and it was!

This was my first stay in Europe and it couldn't have been better. There was a small countertop stove, a medium sized refrigerator, windows that open, nice bathroom, microwave/toaster, and all of the kitchenware you need. The neighborhood it is located in, Tetuan, is safe, especially on the major streets, and you see old people walking around loose bags casually even at night. It is a stone's throw from the metro stop which will take you anywhere in Madrid with free line to line transfers and there are plenty of grocery stores around (Opencor (open late), Mercadona, and smaller places that sell Frutos Secos, one is literally right in front of the hotel). If you're on a budget this is perfect, cook up some eggs, throw in some cheese and ham and toast some bread, buy juice or yogurt drink and you have a decent breakfast. Buy some cookies to snack on (rebuenas or Principe) and you can get away with only eating out once per day (or just cook some pasta for lunch or dinner.) Tv has like 50 channels some in German, French, couple in English bunch in Spanish. This shouldn't be important though! (well, I did watch the Europa League Final Porto v Sporting Braga). The front service is great, they even printed out a couple of bus tickets I needed when I asked where I could go to print something. Very polite and caring. I didn't test their English because I speak Spanish but I'm sure they know it if they're working in a hotel. Wifi code changes everyday, just call them from your room or go downstairs and they'll write it down for you. I read that some people complained about noise at night in other reviews but we were never bothered and slept like babies. Walls are sorta thin but it shouldn't be a major problem. All in all, I would recommend it to anyone and would stay there again without hesitation. I paid around $480 for 5 nights (no breakfast).

PS unrelated: DONT GO TO THE ZOO ITS BORING AND A WASTE OF 20 EUROS PER PERSON!

I stayed here for two weeks while on a training course. The kitchenette saved me a lot of time and money as I didn't have to go out for evening meals, and the free wi-fi worked fine. The location is very convenient for the business area around Castellana. The bed was comfortable; odd that there was no main light in the bedroom, only bedside lights. The staff were helpful. Main negative point: people rolling wheelie-bins up and down the street in the early hours each night but this is a city centre so noise is inevitable.

I stayed at the ApartHotel Quo Galeón whilst visiting Madrid for a business conference. Yes, I'll agree that the apartments are a bit tired looking, but they are very clean, comfortable and fairly spacious- although I had 3 colleagues all sharing one room and that looked a little tight. The rooms are also cleaned daily and the staff are very accommodating and helpful- they made us feel very welcome. Plus free WiFi which is always a good thing!
The area of Tetuan is in Northern Madrid and as previously stated it is VERY easy (and really cheap!) to get the Metro into town. We were pleasantly surprised as to how safe and clean the city was- every place has a Metro station nearby and trains come within 5 minutes off peak and every 2 minutes during peak hours.
And if you want a cheap breakfast, visit Cafe San Miguel on Calle Pensamiento (off Calle Infanta Mercedes behind the hotel). It's not glamourous or chic but it makes a great cafe con leche and toasted croissant.
