Hotel Villa De Barajas

Very good hotel if you do not need to be at the center of Madrid's touristy action, but be close to the airport. There is a metro station about 3 blocks north of it where you can buy the metro tickets at automated machines that accept credit cards or cash in euros. The metro trip downtown takes 2 train changes (3 trains) and a total of about 40 minutes.

While awaiting our flight departure in Madrid we spent the night. I would recommend this hotel as it is conveniently located. It was very clean, comfortable with very good internet service. It was close to the street and if you left a window open on the balcony it could be noisy. They provided us with a very good breakfast. Staff were very friendly and most helpful.

Had an unexpected stay in madrid, thanks United for the delay and missed connection. .. came here and was pleasantly surprised. Clean, great location near the airport abd some good restaurants. For an overnight stay not too bad. Staying at a nicer hotel later when we come back through but I would stay here again in a pinch.

The hotel is clean, modern, recently updated. Breakfast is good. The location is the best. The hotel is close to the airport but in a neighborhood with several restaurants, bars and shops. A perfect place to spend a night.

I expected so much more than what I found. Perhaps I knew when the pick up vehicle arrived that my choice had been hasty.,. One night was enough.
The Service personnel was always with a smile and helpful so I am not referring to the human experience but the cafe was closed and the rooms were very dated - despite wifi and tv.
Best western needs a face lift. For Spanish prices you can do so very much better than this!
I will say, if you end up there for a night the restaurant martes 12 across the street has good fish dishes... A bit pricey but quality..
Clean rooms. Essentials only. No mini bar. Hmmm.. Spain offers more so look...

We wanted a hotel close to the airport as we had a long time between flights. We had stayed a few times at one of the Taj hotels but the price of the Best Western could not be beaten. The shuttle is a great service but as with the Taj hotels, you have to call when you arrive so, yes, you have to have a phone. However, this is made perfectly clear before booking. The shuttle arrived in about 10 minutes. The room is definitely quite basic as you would expect for the price. Don't expect luxury. The bathroom is very good. A previous contributor complained about lack of soap. There are large hand and body wash containers in both the shower and beside the basin. The breakfast was excellent. Having just travelled for some weeks in the USA, the breakfast was a pleasant surprise with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, options of yoghurt without sugar and tasty pastries among other things. The shuttle back to the airport runs every 30 minutes and was so easy. We needed a short stay - less than one night- which is probably a common request for airport hotels. This hotel surpassed the many others I contacted in their willingness to accommodate a booking based on hours rather than nights. They also came out on top with their excellent price and the product they provided. I will use them again for a short stay. If staying longer, there are a number of restaurant choices in Barajas. The metro station is just a block away and Madrid easily accessible. In the past we have based ourselves in Barajas and caught the metro into Madrid. Saves the problems of getting from the airport into Madrid and is a cheaper option for hotel choice.

Convenient location if you want to be close to the airport. The price was very reasonable (I should have known better). The hotel however is hardly visible even standing from across the street. There was no soap. Despite the credit card information they had at the front desk, the phone was not connected since "my fare was pre-paid with expedia" . I couldn't call to get soap. I had to go all the way down and asked at the front desk. Twenty minutes a gentleman arrived to my room with liquid soap. The mattress was hard and very cheap quality.
