The Rooms are new and clean. We had free wifi not sure if that is standard. Location is great, the metro right outside but you are walking distance to everything. They have Towel Warmers!!!! Greatness. The ac didn't seem to get very hot but once you were under the covers it was fine, they had a thick covers.

Great location; restaurant is good and fairly priced; if you belong to melia rewards and get a 15 euro per night bonus to spend at the hotel make sure you ask in detail how you can spend that money. I stayed five nights and spent 71 euros at the bar over five days but only got credit for 15.

We had a wonderful trip(actually we still have 42 hours left here) and one of the things that made this trip wonderful is the hotel. We booked the "level" package thinking will be cold here in Madrid at end November and the SPA included in the package will be great. So right!I can't recommend this hotel enough. the breakfast had great variety with hot and cold choices. The level lounge had everything you need to feel welcomed in the hotel. A glass of cava and a few tapas are just of the few touches this hotel is making to feel great. The girls from the Level reception were polite, great English and gave us helpful suggestions regarding restaurants and things to do.
We actually ate twice in the "Uno " restaurant and i really enjoyed my salmon. Ad at 20 euro including dessert ,glass of wine , started and main was a good deal.
The hotel is very well kept, good position only a 10 minutes walk to Palacio real.
I definitely recommend this hotel and makes a lot of sense to pay a little extra for the level service.
I am planning in coming again to the same "Melia Princessa"

Room Tip: "The level" is the best way to go.

A great value in a quite central location
Short walk to Plaza España and from there with the Metro to anywhere else.
Also not too far walking to the center itself.
Breakfast is an extravaganza of food that can keep you for the entire day.
From tapas to sushi to Cava . I wonder who really demands all these extremes of food for breakfast :)

Hotel was located perfect for the grand via and Peurt del Sol area. Its also steps away from a Metro stop so it could not be more convenient. The staff was extremely freindly and helpful. The rooms were a touch small but very clean and modern and updated nicely. Overall its was a nice 5 day stay and i would reccomend to anyone to stay. The Palacia was just a few blocks away also.

Room Tip: Dont bother with their overpriced and soso cofee, there are several nice cafes close by.

We recently spent two different stays at this hotel. At first, we were a little concerned because it was a 15 minute walk from the Plaza Mayor. However, that turned into a real blessing because we walked the streets almost everyday to Plaza Mayor, El Sol, etc. and got a real feel for the read Madrid. Plus, you are only a 1/2 block from a great metro if you choose not to walk. The hotel is beautiful inside. Very modern. The staff is excellent and one of the most helpful hotel staffs I have experienced in a long time. They did a great job with our dinner reservations and handled all of our questions with a smile and helpful attitude.

The rooms were very nice. In the first couple of nights, the towel warming rack in the room did not work properly and the night tables did not light up like they did when we returned a couple of days later. The room décor is very nice. A boutique style. When we returned later that week for 2 more nights, the second room was really nice. We had a great view and it was a higher floor. Both times we found the rooms to be very comfortable. Every morning there was a fantastic breakfast buffet served.

The hotel seems to cater more to business than it does to tourists, but that was fine with us. I suppose if you wanted to be more of a tourist you might stay in the central part of the city, but we have had our share of tourist hotels and very much liked the Melia Princess. If we were to return to Madrid we would probably choose this same hotel. We liked being out of the tourist crowd

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor if possible

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is clean and the service is good.
However the rooms are a bit old and showing its age.
The bathtub was covered with stains. The bathroom towels provided were old and weary.
Funniest was the Wash Basin design: You end up washing the basin and not your hands.
The floor was not carpeted and very cold to walk and no house shoes are provided.

This is not what I expect from a 4 Star hotel.

Will probably never stay here again.
