Very average hotel. Nothing too great. Spent a week here. They had construction going on in the room next to ours and it woke us up constantly in the morning. They had a water problem too. The water was dirty and we had to let it run for over 10 minutes before it would clear up. We tried to have dinner there and were given microwaved food which was terrible. Breakfast was decent. Staff was so so. Helpful but only if you ask them, they don't greet you or go out of their way to help you. Good location and ok to stay if you're out most of the day. Wouldn't rank it as four star hotel. Good luck if you stay there.

My friend and I stayed two nights here and it's a shame we didn't have more time!

The room was spacious, the bathroom especially - we felt spoilt with two sinks. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The location is great; the metro stop is only down the road and you can easily walk to many of the attractions to soak in the architecture and landscape (except when it's over 35 degrees! It might be a little too warm for walking!) Free wifi was provided. Air conditioner was very handy in the heat.

Breakfast was adequate to give you something to start your morning so you can experience all the wonderful food in Madrid. Check in staff were helpful and polite.

My friend and I had a late night out and arrived after 4am to find the doors bolted shut, but there is a security guard in the foyer that is around to let you in again.

We had a fantastic time in Madrid and staying at this hotel certainly helped. It is great value for money.

We spent 5 days in this hotel. The Alonso Martinez metro station is only a two blocks away from the hotel and you can easily move around. Since we where traveling as a family (2 adults and 2 children) we took a cab and spent the same amount of money as the metro to the main tourist sites: Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofia, Gran Via, Puerta del Sol, etc. The breakfast is so complete and even thought its basically the same every day there is so much to choose from that you do not get tired. The rooms are very clean, including the bathroom. The room has a safe and a frigobar. There is also a store close by where you can buy anything you need for a quick dinner. The staff is very helpful and honest. You have free WiFi.

I spent two nights at Gran Versalles and it was everything I needed in a hotel. The room was clean and it was conveniently located. The Alonso Martinez metro station was right next to the hotel and made it quite convenient to get anywhere. Of course, Gran Via and other main attractions are within walking distance as well (15 minutes). What I really liked was that there was a huge cafe right across from the hotel where I had churro, croissant and cafe con leche every morning I stayed there. There's also a fitness center at a discount offered by the hotel.

Room Tip: I had a room on the street and it was pretty quiet overall.. also nice to open the windows and look...

Wonderful hotel, near a metro station and within 25 -30 minutes walk to Puerta Del Sol, Gran Via, the Prado museum, and other wonderful sights in Madrid, that is if you like to walk. Very nice and clean room with a beautiful modern bathroom/shower type. The hotel is well suited for business travelers or group tours rather than vacationers but it worked for us just great. The breakfast buffet was enormous and so many options to choose from. The coffee is absolutely great and so was the tea.. Enjoyed the stay in the hotel and in Madrid tremendously!

Actually this is a nice place, with friendly staff located in a good place (in walking distance to two metro-stations, Bilbao and Manuel Alonso, and very easy access to Las Ventas and the bull fight) We like a big breakfast and was very happy with the buffet. The room was clean and quiet enough, located on the first floor at the front. The wi fi was not a 100% reliable and it would have been nice to be able to get rid of the dubbing in some of the Spanish TV channels.
But all-in-all, it was an ok stay, and the price was also. Next time we go to Madrid, we will probably try to find a place located a bit closer to the city center.

I had a room facing yard. extremely quiet. clean and comfortable. good shower. plenty of toiletries. soap, shampoo, cond., lotion, comb, shaving, razor etc. good inexpensive breakfast at the hotel (ask when you are in the hotel don't book it before) metro and bus around the corner. 10 15 min from center. some even walk, not me. staff is super helpful and friendly. jesus, luis, tamara, and others. they help with suitcases if asked. give you info with a smile. cons: pillows even foam too bulky to me. I would certainly come back when in Madrid again.

Room Tip: just ask for a quiet room, may be not facing street, although street is not noisy. I was a whole wee...
