The hotel is a little outside the hussle of Madrid, but don't let that stop you as you are just minutes away from the heart of Madrid, as the metro (alonzo martinez) is just a two minute walk away from the hotel.
Checkin was very quick and staff was plesant and spoke English - upon checkin, we were given a map of the city and 1 room card (found out later that you may be able to get a second room card if you stay is long enough). For those that are a little senior, you will have to climb 10 steps from the lobby to get to the 2 elevators (typical European small ones), but they do have a wheel chair lift to get you to the elevators. Lobby is a little old fashion in look, but clean and does have plenty of sofas in case you have to wait for others.
Our room followed the theme of old fashion look, but it was a good size. Bathroom was clean and included a shower/bath combo with a bidet and toilettries were good and restocked daily. Our bed did have a full size king mattress (which was a surprise) and comfie pillows, but the mattress was a little creeky in my opinion (as I could hear the springs at times when I turned), but it did not prevent a good sleep. Room also included a trowser press, 27 inch lcd tv with a few English channels, a safe that does tightly fit a 15 inch laptop, a mini fridge and 10 hangers in the closet. Air conditioning was very good to combat the warm weather and the room did have 2 windows that fully opened.
On the negative side, walls were very thin, as I could easily hear the room laughter of our neighbours (even in the bathroom) and the wifi did cut out on me more than a few times.
Hotel bonus aspects - there was a grocery store just a few minute walk away and open until 9 pm, the Alonzo Martinez metro is really good as it connects to the line that takes you to the airport and is 4 stops from the estadio bernabeu, 2 stops to Gran Via and 5 stops to Venas stop all without transfering, as this metro has 3 lines running through it. The neighbourhood itself is pretty quiet and safe at night with plenty of places to eat within a 5-10 minute walk.
Check out was very quick and we were able to store our luggage at no charge after we checked out before departing Madrid.
All in all, for the price, location and hotel comfort, we enjoyed our 6 night stay that this hotel.
