We stayed at this property for eight days. Convinient to many Museums, Resturants, and Shows. No need for a car yet if you have one there is no parking nearby. Best to pay for Valet service at the hotel. The staff was very helpful and had great suggestions on where to eat and what to see in the local area.

Room Tip: If you coming from the airport take Hotel shuttle. You will see the stand near the exit to the airp...

Pretty simple hotel but it's nice. Convenient location by the train and walking distance to many tourist sites. Hotel staff was nice but they didn't know much about the train system going outside of Madrid. However, overall a good experience.

Very close to Museums and to the Attocha terminal of trains, metro, buses. An express bus to airport is very freaquently available (every 15 minutes - when we checked). Great room - specious, modern, comfortable. Free mini Bar. Tasty food for quite evening in the lobby - a good option if you are too tired to go out again. Friendly and helpfull staff.

Room Tip: we had rooms at 2nd floor and nest time on 4th floor- both where very nice.

Simple hotel, but our Jr. Suite room was lux. Service was good and the room was very well appointed and new; nice bathroom with plush towels, a great shower. Room divided with sliding pocket door for privacy with queen bed on one side and sofa bed on the other. Good location close to many sites. Worth the stay

We spent 5 nights a tthe AC Hotel Carlton Madrid by Marriott.
This was a good stay and we were very pleased with the hotel. Madrid is beautiful, there are lots of things to do. I was concerned about the hot weather but since there is no humitity, it was very pleasant.

I picked the Carlton because I wanted a modern hotel with a comfortable bed and air conditioning. The room is smaller than US standards. The price was very good so we booked two adjoining rooms for us and our Daughter. We could have had a room with three single beds but for 15 more euro per day we had two rooms. A king size bed in our room and two singles pushed together in the other room. Very comfortable firm beds. The bathrooms were all tile, glass and very modern.
The bathrooms all have glass sliding doors which I liked because they are very quiet.

Nice LG TV hanging on the wall but the only station in English was the BBC network.
This turned out to be a plus for us as we usually end up coming home after dinner and watching the tube. Since the tube was limited we went out, stayed out late and got on the Spanish time zone which is a late dinner and sleeping in.

There is a small fridge in the room and they supply free water and soda daily.
The maid turns off the air conditioning when she cleans so it has to be turned on daily when you return from sight seeing.

I wasn't crazy about the area, although it is close to the train station and two metro stations, it is not in the tourist area so there aren't a lot of nice restaurants around. I was concerned about crime/pickpockets that I had read about but felt very safe here.

Speaking Spanish would be a big plus, but most people speak some English and our Daughter who speaks a little Spanish was able to translate for us. Some restaurants have English menus, ask for one. I'm not willing to order food unless I know what it is.

We loved the Hop on/Hop off bus and would recommend doing this the first or second day, this will help you decide what You want to see.

The Prada Museum was unbelievable, You really need more than one day to see it all.

We did not care for the Sophia Reyna Modern Art Museum.

We took the train to Toledo it's an easy day trip.

Enjoy Madrid, we sure did.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on a higher floor they are quieter. Elevators are very small you may have to go u...

Enjoyed our 5 days stay in Madrid and hotel was good access. Bed was big enough to fit my toddler in the middle. Room was spacious (room 205) enough space to put stuff and stroller. Even had some weak wifi signal from the lobby! Slow Internet though. Lobby reception didn't speak good English when we checked in. Other days the staff were friendly and finally informed us that we could pass with the stroller through a back door (instead of all the pain we had passing through the revolving door!). The mini bar drinks were free and refilled everyday. However twice the cleaning lady didn't fill up our mineral water and toiletries. Not sure if she forgot intentionally?!? Had to call lobby and they were very prompt in sending it to the room. Rooms were modern which I loved. Good tv had a cartoon channel to keep daughter busy while we had to prepare stuff.
