I've stayed in Rafael Atocha on a couple of occasions being on a business trips in Madrid. Main reason for choosing this hotel is purely because of it's location which is very close to our office.
Hotel itself is somewhat of an average mid-range hotel, without any distinctive feature. Design is a bit outdated, rooms are OK, but in my opinion need renovation. Bathroom is fine, but I was expecting more a four star hotel.
Pay-per-day WiFi (through scratch card) is ridiculous in business oriented hotel in 2013, it nust be free.
Breakfast in the restaurant is average, nothing really delicious there, and somewhat poor variety.
Overall - decent place to stay if you have reasons to pick this exact hotel, otherwise I'd go for a nearby Mariott Atocha- much better, for similar price.More
