The lack of free wifi was its biggest disappointment - everything else was at 3 - 4* standard. Comfortable clean beds a fully equipped bathroom and good room service. I was on the 7th floor so had no traffic noise. Very convenient for the train and subway stations and a pleasant walk to many of the top attractions including Retiro Park. Not sure it would be worth it if paying full price but at last minute prices good value.

We stayed as part of a Globus tour and were pleased with the clean, quiet, large room with comfortable beds and efficient air conditioning along with a well appointed bathroom with marble counters. A twenty minute walk to the Prado and other museums, and a close metro station for the Plaza Mayor in a decent neighborhood with a market on the next corner make it a good choice. The breakast buffet contained a great selection of eggs, meats and cheeses but four tours at one time caused a backup the second morning we were there.

The hotel was clean and close to the station as we had no other transport, did not have free wifi, traffic noise was not a problem, beds where comfortable, happy to stay there again.

just see the title. old fashioned but not bad located. receptionists should learn some manners of a 4 stars hotel (for example to smile sometimes). Food at room service if asked at hotel bar on groundfloor, is perfect. very quiet and clean.

This is a good hotel, but simply in the wrong place. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Atocha station, so if you are traveling by train and need a place to rest for one night then this is perfect. However it is quite a distance from the cities main sites and you need a taxi unless you are willing to walk 25 minutes to get anywhere.

We stayed for only two nights but noticed many bus tours coming through the hotel. We didn't sample the restaurant or bar, but they both appeared empty at all times? The exterior of the hotel is nothing special, it's quite dark and not particularly inviting.

The rooms were comfortable, the bed is very very nice, slept like a baby, which is obviously important. The bathroom was great, very nice amenities and condition. The furniture is quite dated and we couldn't access the safe in the room. The view from the window was the roof top as we were on the 8th floor, what we could see over the roof wasn't very impressive

The staff were friendly, but it felt a little robotic. I would say stay here if you are not planning a long trip and looking for a good nights sleep. If location is important and you are exploring the city, it's not the place for you.

Room Tip: Top floor was quieter (8th floor) and the room bigger than the one we first tried on the 1st floor.

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our Trafalgar tour. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located close to bus stps and a major metro . Must visits are the Prado Art Gallary and the ever lively Puenta del Sol. In fact, we were in walking distance of museums, art galleries, and other tourist attractions. Restaurants are nearby, including a modest one in the hotel.

We stayed here three nights as a part of a Globus tour. The staff works hard to take care of 40-50 travelers all at once. The rooms were clean, though a bit dark and it was quiet.. The area is safe. You can walk to the train station and its even closer to a metro station (Atocha). The restaurant for tours worked hard to keep up. There is another restaurant for non-tour patrons, but not too many outside the hotel. There is a supermarket across the street.
