This is such an amazing food market. I really enjoyed browsing and sampling the many choices of tapas and drinks. Great way to spend a couple of hours and soak up the Madrid energy!

Bursting with different flavours, taste, smells, savouries, sweets, drinks. I get that eating like this wont be for some people, but we loved the full, bouyant atmosphere. Wander round, pick and choose from loads of different and diverse foods meet up with friends in the middle, sup on a beer and absorb the indulgent surroundings. Great fun with a group of you!

This is one of those places that we all have heard about, but that once you are there it is a bit dissapointing. It is not a real market, just a place where snob people pay three or four times the real price of meal. Building is very nice, but it is not the best place to have lunch. I would not recommend it.

This place looks like an old market, but you have a crowded seating area and dozens of stalls around where you can buy many delicatessen, typical, or rare food.

You basically struggle to find somewhere to eat, and one person in your party stays watching the seats, and another goes and buys the "tapas".

The selection is awesome, you have tons of different options to choose from, and the quality of the food is 8 over 10.

The negative comment on this place is the price: Yes, 1 EUR for a tiny pincho, or 2,80 EUR for an average tapa is too much; and I agree. But if you consider having an early light lunch with 2 drinks and 4 tapas per person, or half a plate and 2 tapas per person, you'll end up paying between 12-15 EUR each, and I don't think that this amount is too much for the experience.

My suggestion is to go early to avoid crowds (around 12:30 AM) and make up your mind that you'll be eating 4 tiny tapas and a glass of nice wine, all for 15 EUR.
