Depending on what you end up paying per night, you might modify your impression of this hotel. Clean, tidy, very helpful and friendly staff (except for the grumpy old man at the front desk). Located in a pretty residential area, with 2 metro stops on the nearby. You're close to the Bernabeu Stadium (a 10min walk) and barely 15 min from anywhere in the centre since the Colombia Metro Station drives you quickly anywhere. I stayed in a single room. It was quiet and clean, overlooking a back garden. If you're a tourist, then this hotel might not be very well placed. It's on the upper city, not much going on, really. I would specially recommend it for business purposes. nice breakfast, though expensive.

I found the reception staff helpful and pleasant and there was a bus service on metres away from the entrance taking me directly to the city centre. The room was cleaned each day during my week's stay and suited my needs well. Loved the deep bath with plenty of hot water. Would prefer to see little toiletries discontinued as there is so much wastage with small plastic packaging. Soap dispensers are more eco-friendly. Wifi was not always reliable and it was inconvenient to have to ask for a new password every 24 hours. Unlike previous reviews I had no trouble adjusting the cooling in the room. It was quiet and not so much light in the room that it bothered me particularly. I got the distinct impression that the focus in this hotel was on making money from business travellers whose company pays the bill, rather than provide service. For example, no tea/coffee in the room and this had to be paid for in the lobby along with everything else. I refused to pay 18 euros for breakfast, and walked to a nearby coffee shop instead. On my return to Madrid another hotel was recommended to me at a far cheaper rate, with excellent free wifi & a delicious, free buffet breakfast. From a seasoned traveller's perspective, you don't actually make money charging extra, instead you lose customers - worth keeping in mind. This hotel could be so much better simply by focusing on meeting the needs of guests, especially by including breakfast, providing a better wifi service and having an iron available.

This was the worst hotel we stayed in in Madrid. Of course I'm sure there are worst ones but this was supposed to be a good hotel. The AC did not work, the room was very small and you could not close the drapes, which meant the light was shining in the room in the middle of the night. The price was lower than some hotels we stayed in; that should have given us a clue. But, it wasn't really cheap. I'm sure you can find a better hotel for the price. We were very dissapointed!

Good hotel experience, slightly expensive for what you get. A lot of marketing and product placment. Breakfast is call "de-tox breakfast" and therefore they charge 18€ for it! Actually they refer to the available fruit and rocket leaves which are heavily out numbered by the tox items such as bacon, cheese, cakes etc etc. Good normal but well over priced.

I checked in for one night on 11 May; a couple of days after the start of Madrid's high temperatures. I asked about the air conditioning and was advised that the air conditioning was not due to be turned on for a few more days and there was nothing they could do about it. Asked for an electric fan - none available. Told to open the window, which I had to, the temperature in the room at midnight was over 35. All the street lights shone into the room and of course all of the street noises could be heard - rubbish trucks, speeding cars, and late night partying. Breakfast was poor for choice and the hot food was cold. The staff at the desk were all arrogant and did not care about my or my fellow travellers comfort

room was very small, the guys at the reception weren't very friendly and call something else a clean room. Internet costs about 35cent per minute and its very very slow. if you ask me - it is not a 4 star hotel!! But now to the positive thing: especially for footballfans it's great. about a 10 minute walk to the stadium
