“Excellent Hotel. GREAT Location.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2013 via mobile

Excellent hotel. Best location in Madrid. Perfect room and amenities for the price.
Excellent service at the reception.
Mayor Plaza and Real Palace was in 10 mins walk. There were all sorts of amazing resturants in 5 mins walk. Very safe and was on a busy street. Loved it.

We flew into Madrid and took the bus to the last stop. From there (the Atocha train station is there too) we walked. It is a bit up hill but a reasonable walk nonetheless. The room was small but very clean and well appointed. I loved the heated towel rack in the bathroom. Everything is wthin walking distance including many restaurants, museums, plazas and even a small grocery store. The staff was very friendly as well. Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel is one of the best hotels I have visited..its location is central , the decor is very modern and cleanliness is 5*

I stayed in a double room which had a spacious shower and balcony. I have no faults to bring up.
The reception staff were extremely helpful and cleaning staff always said hello.

Would definitely stay again !

Short and simple--this is a nice hotel and very ideally located in the middle of the city--10 minute walk to Puerta del Sol; Prado; Reina Sofia; Atocha station etc. The hotel is modern and nice. The rooms (standard) are small, but well appointed. Bathrooms are nice, but have a glass door and not too much privacy if you're with another person. Skip the breakfast offer (you're in Spain after all...) The staff are very accommodating and very flexible. Ona at the front desk is particularly helpful. Drinks at the bar are expensive, but you get what you pay for--a very nice pour and wide variety of spirits, mixers, and garnish. There is a laundromat up the street heading away from Atocha station. I would have thought we'd get more for what was paid, but relative to other hotels it was an average value.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, 14th-16th November. We found the hotel to be a good hotel for a short break in Madrid. The facilities were fine for a short stay, clean and warm with a nice terrace. My wife has arthritis in her hands and found that the hair dryer that only stayed on if you kept your finger on the trigger painful. This is a change that many hotels need to consider as they are not dangerous as they switch off when you take the card out of the room. Only one other thing for the hotel to consider is that the breakfast is available from 7am during the week but 7.30 at weekend. This would be better at 7am 7 days a week because many flights mean that the customer has to miss breakfast and we did and still had to pay for it. This could be improved by putting coffee making facilities in each room, which nowadays is the norm. The receptionist did say that we could have had a breakfast box put up but as my wife is gluten free, was awkward. Just a simple change to 7.00am everyday would make the difference. Apart from that enjoyed our stay. We would check to see if this breakfast problem and coffee facilities in the room had changed before returning to this hotel. If not we would go to somewhere that had these facilities.

Good location as mentioned but does not worth for the price. And should be careful that everything beside the room might charge without notice! One of the staff is really unfriendly! We expect a bit more that what we've got.

I stayed here three nights with a friend on a recent vacation. To get here, take the YELLOW bus from the airport to the last stop ATOCHA station (5 Euros each direction). When you get off the bus, you need to walk towards the left and look UP (Walk towards the hotel Medidia). Next to that hotel is Calle de Atocha, where this hotel is located. Its about a 1/3-1/2 mile walk (partly uphill) to the actual lobby so keep this in mind if you have a lot of luggage. I found it to be manageable but elderly or people with lots of things or children may not want to deal with this walk.

Major museums are withina 5-10 mins walk, as is the gorgeous Parque de Retiro. (If you are a runner like me, this park is fantastic for a run!).

The hotel staff were friendly, spoke English and very helpful. There is plenty of shops and restaurants immediately nearby. As a plus, there is a completely vegetarian restaurant within a 5 mins walk for those that don't eat meat. (Vegetarian options are limited in spain). Lots of great breakfast bakeries within 2-3 mins walk and Plaza Mayor is about 10 mins walk. Main bars and entertainment are only about 10-15 mins walk away.

My room was modern and clean. Small to Medium sized with enough space for a traveler who packs sensibly. A roof deck hot tub is there but we did not use it as it was raining. The deck itself is a nice place to sit down though and I recommend it highly.

I would definitely stay here again and would tell others to do so as well.
