We entered this tapas bar by chance whilst touring around La Latina. It looked really good from the outside as well packed with people so we decided to go in. It turned out to be a wise decision. The tapas were delicious, as well as the sangaria. In short, great value for money.

A wide selection of tasty tapas in the style of San Sebastian's pinchos. Get there after 9pm when the locals come. Earlier, the place may be quiet.

This restaurant offers a sample of the famous Basque cuisine in the convenient form of tapas sandwiches.
We went there twice, for lunch and dinner, and would be happy to return.
The portions are generous to an extent that the sandwiches are sometimes higher than wider. If you are hungry, three or four should be enough. They are served cold or hot depending on the ingredients. We had ten different ones and all were good or very good.
Wash them down with the crisp Basque white wine poured effectively from quite a height (splash is part of the fun), and steer clear of the run of the mill white Protos Verdejo. Room is scarce but patrons are not, so, like in many other tapas bars, be prepared to stand in a fairly dense (but always friendly and relaxed) crowd, especially in dinner time.

This place was not on the lists we consulted of recommended tapas places on Calle Cava Baja, but it should be. The people behind the counter were super helpful, and the food was great. It was surprising and fun to see the "gulas" (angulas, or baby eels) on some tapas, and they were surprisingly affordable. Very pleasant experience here.

We wanted to try basque style pintxo so we picked this restaurant based on the raving reviews from tripadvisor. We were a little disappointed because we tried 7-8 types but only 2 was good (the chorizo with small egg on top, tortilla de patatas)...the rest are just so so including the famous big egg "bomb" (forgot the name). Price was from 2.95 - 5 each. We felt it was over-rated but maybe it's a good bar scene for late night..we were there earlier the evening.
