During our city trip to Madrid, we wanted to try something authentic, outside the tourist area. Thanks to Maribel's Guide (you find her website if you type "Maribel's guide" on google) we have ended in this restaurant full with locals. At 10:30 in the evening, the restaurant was full and it was only thanks to the friendly and helpful waiters that managed to get 2 places at the bar. As our Spanish was far from perfect we have asked for some advise for choosing the food. It was the chef in person that came and explained what are the house specialities. We have appreciated the fact that he was really not looking to trick us into ordering the most expensive things on the menu, but really the best things. We were spoiled with truffle croquettes, mini beef hamburgers, baby calamari, anchovies... They had very good wine too. It is definitely one of the best places I have ever eaten. Make sure that you do not miss this hidden gem while in Madrid :)
