“Great tapas and restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

Food was excellent especially the mixed paella was a real treat. They also had spanish football on the 2 tvs and their service was excellent. They were consistently checking on your table to ensure meals and tapas were being turned over appropriately. Will be coming back!

“Lunch with 2 courses, wine and dessert for 10 euros”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2014

Ciudad de Tui serves typical Spanish cuisine for a very reasonable price. The service is fast, the food is tasty and the waiters attentive.

Indeed, I would not say it was the best and fanciest restaurant I ate in my life. But for sure it is in the top 10 of the value for money list.

Anyway, it is not everyday you find a reasonable place where you pay only 10 euros for a tasteful 2 courses lunch with wine and dessert included. At least, not when you are out of your domains.

“Better Than Average”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013

I was tired of tapas and decided to eat something else. My wife and I had the seafood paella. It was very good, maybe a touch bland as far as spices. The waiter advised us that the paella would take 35 minutes to serve, a glass or two of wine later the paella arrived. Plenty of shrimp, muscles, squid and clams in the paella. If you are in a hurry this is not the place to go, the staff only occasionally checks on you. I found that true of most of the Spanish restaurants I ate at. There was an ample amount of food for the two of us.

“Average food, long wait”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

Couldn't recommend this restaurant. We ordered pork escalope and vegetarian paella. We were left waiting for almost an hour for our food, and when it came out the paella was delicious but the pork was extremely average, disappointing considering the price. Outside the restaurant is ok, seating is fine (busy and dodgy street so be careful), but inside the place is not at all clear or attractive. Napkins are seen thrown on the floor by the bar, which was propped up by locals having drinks. Seemed more like a cafe than a high classed restaurant. Would say though that our waiter was good and helpful to us, got us a seat outside and when it turned cold he got us a seat indoors. Overall though, would not return.

“Value for money”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

Right in the middle between Gran Via and Sol this restaurant has some decent quality Spanish food for a very good price (especially considering the location). While we were there we were entertained by a guitarist singing Spanish, Brazilian/Portuguese and some English music, which created a great atmosphere and drowning out the hustle and bustle from the busy street next to the terrace.
The waitress was very attentive, and pleasant, giving advice where asked. The food was just average, but everything else just made up for the while experience.
