My wife and I did both a walking tour and the tapas tour and would strongly recommend them both. Neale was our walking tour guide and although new to Madrid, he was knowledgeable, fun, entertaining, and kept things up beat and moving along at a pace that was comfortable and not slow and heavy as some guided tours become. Eric, a native to Madrid, was our guide for the tapas tour and he too was great. We were a bit worried about the tapas tour as it started half an hour late and seemed to be a bit disorganized at first. However, once we got moving, the tour took shape and we had a great time. If you book and pay in advance, be sure to bring a print out of your reservation or at least the reservation number to verify your payment.
Don’t take the tours just to see the sights. It’s a great way to meet new and interesting people from all over the world. Talk to your fellow travelers and share some of yourself. Also, remember that the guides are working for tips. Be generous if you enjoyed the tour and the company.More
