Beautiful park in the centre of Madrid. A large greenhouse, the crystal palace, has art exhibitions. The large monument to Alfonso XII which is very impressive and a boating lake right in front where you can hire rowing boats. There are e-scooters and bikes for hire to look around the whole park. There are also lots of street performers and even if your Spanish is wanting, as my 7yr old's was, you can still enjoy them.

My wife and I spent a very plaeasant few hours here while waiting to go to the airport later in the evening. A lovely warm Saturday brought very large numbers to visit but also to entertain. As well as numerous hawkers there were many entertainers of all types, - puppet shows, jazzbands, musicians, magicians, singers, etc. A central boating lake and various cafes made the whole experience very memorable.

I love this park with lots of places to sit in the shade on a hot day. So many different areas to enjoy. The lake is great to go boating or just sit on the edge watching others.
The peacocks are in a beautiful area with trees, courtyard, arched walkways and water features. The smaller lake near the glasshouse has terrapins swimming around and basking in the sunshine. There are places to stop and get a drink and something to eat or purchase ice creams.

What a nice contrast - you can do the boating here in this very large park with a nice little lake. The area surrounding the lake is where you can people-watch and enjoy the beautiful sights.
