We went on a Monday after almost a week of sightseeing top spots. It was a relaxing place to stroll around. We walked around the lake where you could rent a boat. There were musicians set up in different areas - a saxophonist, violinist, etc. which were entertaining. There are numerous fountains and statues in different areas of the park. We even found found the old zoo ruins listed on Atlas Obscura.com.

This is a can't miss in Madrid. Like Central Park in NYC, you can enter Retiro Park and forget that you are in a city at all. You can't even hear the traffic. It is beautiful, but enormous. No way you can see the whole park in one visit if you are taking the whole thing in. You can walk from one end to the other in about 30-45 minutes. The lake is beautiful and peaceful. On a nice day you can row around in a small boat. The architecture throughout the park is breathtaking as is the scenery. Gorgeous trees and paths everywhere. If you lived in Madrid you would probably want to spend every weekend here. It's also a great place for college kids to spread out and get some reading/studying done in a quiet and peaceful place. This is a park you will never get tired of. It's a Madrid must see.

Huge park, perfect to relax. I would recommend downloading the Lime app and renting one of the many scooters you can find around the park. Great way to get around the park.

Would definitely recommend a visit to this park. It's huge! The lake is beautiful. I would imagine if you lived in Madrid you would spend every Sunday in this park.

We went to this park in early November, which probably did not allow us to see it in full splendour. It is very large and we took a tour, which was helpful since the history of the park made it more interesting. A nice place to visit if the weather is good and you want a relaxing stroll.

Retiro is a large park right in downtown Madrid. It's a great place to stroll and relax on a pretty day. It has some interesting sculptures and gates.

It is the best place for a walk & picnic with your family or friends. It offers lots of activities like boat riding, parks for children, a glass museum and more to discover if you are a nature lover.

We were not able to go inside as they were setting up for another installation but the outside is beautiful. The place is a tourist trap though, lots of people and vendors around the whole things.
