I found this park after the end of the working day. Just three blocks from the hotel where I was staying I wanted a walk before the sun set. The park reminds me of Parisian order but with lanes and walks reminiscent of central park. There was an excellent photographic exhibition in the park the day I visited. Get your kodak moment at the lake Palacio del Cristal. Obviously best visited on a sunny day and in the day.

We loved this park. It has meandering pathways and shaded areas to sit and rest and enjoy the scenery. There was an area where the park exhibited plants from other locations from around the globe. It was fun to see the plants that were native to where we were from! The park is huge so where comfortable shoes. It's a nice place to relax after viewing the art works at the Prado museum.

We love the Crystal Palace. The man made lake and the different work of art installed all over the place

Really beautiful park in the middle of the city. Crystal Palace - awesome! Looked like a popular place for jogging as well.

We had a long stroll one sunny afternoon. The park was full of local people, groups of highschool students and their teachers. Madrid is a very green city and Retiro is probabaly the largest patch of green, right at the center. A well kept park, with many different kinds of trees, mostly very old.
