A beautiful hotel across from the Prado Museum and near many buildings and activities. The check in was smooth, the workout facilities are nice--if not a bit hidden. The free wifi in the lobby isn't the best nor is the wifi expense in the rooms. Shouldn't hotels of this caliber include the wifi expense in the cost of the room?

The hotel is classy, the concierge know their stuff. The rooms are ample. The elevators less so. Not a problem until check out time comes.

We secured an interior room which was helpful in that it was a loud night in the town: yes, St. Patrick's day is celebrated even in Spain. :)

Room Tip: If you don't like the noise ask for an interior room.

This was our first visit in Spain, and choosing the Westin Palace was the best option for us!

The hotel is located right in the hub of the city, therefore allowing your to explore most of the city's beauties on foot. The museo del Prado is literally minutes away, and so is the main shopping area.

This property is a majestic classic from the Westin brand. The lobby is very welcoming and adorned with rich decor and architecture. The rooms are equally beautiful, with all the needed facilities available. The HeavenlyBed was the cherry on the cake, promising sleep and rest.

We also tried the food and beverage outlets. The Atrium is an amazing venue and a good kick-off to any day. The rest of the hotel's areas are equally as nice.

Also a bug well done to Alberto at front desk, who was very courteous and hospitable when performing our check-out

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for some luxury in the heart of the city. We just cannot wait to be back!

My wife & I had a really comfortable, luxurious, 5star stay at this old-world, classy hotel. The room was spacious, clean, quiet (in spite facing the front) and super comfortable. The breakfast restaurant was awesome and the staff was outstanding. The location was the best, close to absolutely everything ! I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Madrid !

This is a very gracious hotel. The staff from the reception staff, to the concierge staff, to the waiters, etc. were all very attentive and polite. They could not have been more accommodating. The rooms was very clean, well appointed and even the lighting was good. Ther room was spacious with several TVs. The shower was wonderful. The breakfast was as good as any I have ever had in Europe. Anything you could have wanted was included. It was served from 7 am to 11am. I ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was wonderful. It is in an excellent location in the centro of Madrid, a short walk from the prinicipal museums.

Room Tip: My room was very quiet and was overlooking the courtyard, not the street.

Stayed here on business and the location could not be faulted.

The rest of the hotel was average at best, it was fussy and in dire need of an upgrade.

The room smelt musty and seemed like dust had collected in the overly fussy curtains and for the entirety of the stay it was poorly equipped for a 5 star hotel e.g the hairdryer barely worked, no slippers and suprisingly no free wifi in the rooms despite the price you are paying and the air conditioning was so poor I ended up leaving the window open to get some air resulting in the traffic noise outside.

The food was poor, lacking flavour and looked more like mass catering!

Overall I would not choose this hotel, given its price it should offer more in terms of its offering and spruce the place up!

Dear Tripadvisor
Thank you for mentioning our good location. I first of all would like to apologize for not having met your expectations
Like with other reviewers when they praise the service and the facilities of the hotel we celebrate; when we don´t exceed the service we learn from it and improve
Wifi is free in public areas and business center as well as in the entire hotel for Starwood Preferred Gold and Platinum members; we indeed charge a fee for in room wifi
I don´t know if we were made aware of the air conditioning issue and the hairdryer as I am sure we could have fixed it immediately. I am sorry you did not like the served food
We hope we will have another opportunity to serve you better

This is an outstanding hotel and better than most Westins -

Ideal location - around the corner from the Prado, etc
Gorgeous building
Top tier service from the concierge and all staff
Lovely rooms - bigger than most city rooms and huge nice bathrooms

I will definitely be back anytime I return to Madrid. A wonderful experience.
