“Great Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

Great location across from the Prado Museum and near the Retiro Park. The staff was very friendly and the concierge service was exceptional (my spanish isn't particularly good and they made all our reservations on our behalf). It's hard to beat. Beautiful hotel in a great location. Also fairly close to the Atocha train station for day trips to Toledo.

They are celebrating their 100th year and seem to be growing old with style. Ive got the biggest most comfortable bed Ive ever had in europe. Its located very close to some tapas hotspots and major shopping districts. Their stained glass room is bueatiful and a fantastic place to have tea or a brunch. 5mins from train station 30 from airport near all the embassies.

The location of this hotel, celebrating 100 years is central, next to Prado could not be better. The service and friendly staff from our initial reservation to the bellman, to concierge, front desk, room service and housekeeping were superior. The Westin Palace Madrid is walking distance to all banks and trendy tapa restaurants. Originally our preference was a boutique hotel, but after much discussion we decided to use our Starwood (SPG) benefits and could not have been more pleased. We were upgraded, and received a preferred interior room as requested. It was quiet other than happy guests returning at 6:30 am, or maybe happy employees going to work in the hallway our initial morning. The complimentary coffee or tea was a nice touch as we opted to walk the city of Madrid to explore the many Tapa Restaurants. The restaurant, La Rotonda was outstanding. This was a superior Starwood property and the historic ambiance with luxury rooms would be recommended to anyone as the best full service hotel in Madrid.

Room Tip: As a Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), your stay will be as good as gold. A preferred Starwood Hotel...

This review is for the executive suite on the top floor. We booked the Junior Suite but was upgraded apon arrival. The suite and hotel as tons of character. It fees like you're actually living inside a museum palace, in a good way! 2 bathrooms, two balconies, comfy bed, great shower and you cannot beat this location! We walked virtually everywhere and this hotel was right across from the Prado. No pool here or Spa which were the only 2 downsides. Very attentive service and would definitely stay here again. I'm usually very picky and prefer 5 stars only so my standards are fairly high. This was a great value! Would reccomend!!

Room Tip: Try to get upper floor, facing outside, executive suite.

We organized a conference in Madird in July 2012 and this was our base hotel.

The hotel itself is definitely worth a visit. The stained glass dome of the restaurant is splendid and it was a pleasure having daily breakfast there! The breakfast is delicious offering a wide variety of choices, hower pricy.

Staff: Not enough staff working at receiption, especially during check in! The concierge was alsways helpful. The staff at the restaurant during breakfast was always extremely pleasant and efficient!

Rooms: We all stayed on the Starwood floor, but the rooms were on different sizes. Rooms with bow windows were slightly larger. The bathrooms were very large and beatiful. The bed was extremely comfortable!!! The rooms facing the Neptune Fountain are a treat, spectacular view!

Internet: Internet was very expensive! Should be included in the price of the room!

Great central location.

Room Tip: Ask for a bow window room, there are slightly larger

The location is wonderful, the service great all the staff is friendly just a superior Starwood property.
The location is near everything you cold want and we were offered free internet or a drink when we checked in and of course too the internet. A nice bonus belonging to SPG along with using points and cash to stay.
Madrid is a wonderful city and the Westin Palace is a perfect place to stay..

Room Tip: Join the SPG program
