If you have extra time on a Sunday during your visit to Madrid it is an interesting place to check out. Basically there are just stalls spread out all over the sidewalks for a bunch of blocks in the center of Madrid. Not a lot of stuff worth buying in my opinion. Be careful as it is supposed to be one of the major pick pocketing sites in Europe. We did a quick walk through and it was interesting enough.

It's just a flea market, although oddly situated in the middle of Madrid. Full of touristic trinkets, we delved into the throng of Madrileños and couldn't wait to get out... Maybe we missed something, not for everyone

We had heard excellent reviews of this and were expecting it to be full of antiques and Moroccan stalls selling lovely leather bags. However, it was rubbish. There were about 2 nice stalls and the rest sold knock-off sun glasses, lighters and t-shirts.

This market is said to be the largest in the world. Alot of the stuff they sell is quite cool and original although alot of it is quite tacky. This place never the less is one of madrids. must dos for any tourist. Get there at about 9 as youll need a few hours to see it.

I'd recommend this place if you really had nothing else to do on a Sunday, but that's about it. We walked block after block of stall vendors, only to realize that most sold Made in China clothes and Made in Morocco leather goods. Not much that would entice tourists, or at least, this tourist.

I did, however, find a lady who was selling Flamenco dresses for young girls, so that was something that I got my daughters. Price was reasonable, as well, cheaper than what was offered at other tourist-trap areas.
