It is worth going for a walk there in the afternoon and looking at the beautiful small palaces that are still there

“Tower blocks and traffic”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2012

About 8 lanes of traffic and office blocks. Only thing worth a mention is the Bernabeu stadium.

“Beautiful Boulevard”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2011

When I go to Madrid I like to walk along the Castellana from the Calle del General Oraa until the Plaza de Colon. It is like a park with mature trees, flowers and shrubs, with wide sidewalks along the center. You can still see some of the remaining palaces that line the boulevard. I read that 80% of the original palaces that were there are gone and replaced by businesses and banks. There are several eating places along this boulevard and one place is the Embassy restaurant, that serves mouth watering desserts and tapas.
