My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Villa Magna for four days and we chose this hotel because it was very close to Calle Serrano, the great shopping street of Madrid. The location of this hotel is the best in the Salamanca district. We were in Room 302.
Our room was quite big and the bathroom was also large. I liked the walk-in shower, with plenty of room.
However on the first night there was plenty of loud music. It seemed that there was an event on the ground floor and this went on until midnight, so we had a hard time sleeping that night. The other 3 nights were quiet and we were able to rest well.
The breakfast room had only cold cuts. You had to order from the menu to get any hot food. A good thing to ask is for two fried eggs and three salchichas (sausages). I suggest that the hotel add some warm food for clients because many clients may not have time to ask anything from the menu card.
All the employees of the hotel are friendly and very professional.
A good thing about the hotel is that next door is the Restaurant Tse-Yang, one of the best Chinese restaurants in Madrid. We have been going to this restaurants for years. We thought that the hotel owned it, but it seems we were wrong and they have different owners. We ate there one day for lunch with a friend.
I have seen all of the 5 star hotels in Madrid, since I am often asked details of these hotels in Trip Advisor. The most beautiful 5 star hotel right now is the Hotel Santo Mauro, which has the most beautiful interior, designed by Lorenzo Castillo, the most important interior designer in Spain at this time. If the Hotel Villa Magna wants to update their ground floor rooms, I suggest they contact this designer. He can give this hotel a wow factor that will please all its clients, something you expect at a 5 star hotel.
