The Magna is located on a huge street with a lot of traffic (not as much pedestrian) but because it is set up slightly higher than the street and there are trees and plants at the front of the property, the public rooms, particularly the large lounge, are surprisingly calm and serene. The hotel is at the edge of the well-heeled and largely residential area in Salamanca and is ideally situated for people who want to shop designer boutiques. We saw many ladies with bags and bags of the top global designer brands trotting in and out of the hotel or lunching on the patio.
For those who prefer visiting the museums or enjoying the hustle and bustle at one of the major pubic squares, those places can be a bit of a walk. We enjoyed the walks but the going can get a little tough when the temperature hits the mid-90's (about 35 C), as it did during our stay in Madrid.
The rooms themselves are very nice and relatively spacious, although the views tend to be less than ideal. Service is very professional and gracious.More
