We got to see some Picasso which was the highlight. The layout of the building is a bit confusing and not conducive to logical walking (non-linear).

You'll need most of a day to see round the extensive spaces in this terrific building. A colleague remarked that it looks like it was designed by SMEG, but all the same, it's hugely impressive.
Multiple buildings, exhibits, floors, beautiful stonework in places, an outdoor garden with sculptures by Miró and Calder...
Then there is the 400-seat auditorium and the restaurant, both of which are as impressive as the museum itself.

The day I was there the main exhibition was of Cubist paintings - again, very impressively done.
I would like to go back when I have more time.

It’s a fabulous place but a bit overwhelming due to its size. Take a tour. We loved the beauty of Picasso, Dali, Magritte etc. Not to be missed whilst in Madrid.

Amazing art the collection seems to just keep going. Loved ‘Guarnica’ from Picasso really great and some quirky items you can buy from the shop.

This is the modern art museum of Madrid, with as its pride, Picasso's Guernica mural. A whole, large room is devoted to this painting, with several sketches as well as a photographic record of how it was created. But they have a nice collection of Picasso's other works as well, and a whole room is also devoted to Juan Gris, the other Spanish abstract painter. They have some interesting paintings by Dali, and a very interesting collection (of mostly graphical) Russian avant-garde art. It is a pretty large museum, with the paintings well displayed, but a bit of a maze. The audio guide is very informative.

Nicely designed and well organised museum. The exhibits are interesting and rich. One needs time to see and absorb everything.

This museum is the home of the Guernica, which was the most impressive piece of art i have ever seen. The building is also amazing; just love it! Will return

The gem is of course Guernica from Pablo Picasso, but I strongly suggest to have a deep look to the rest of the permanent collection: Dalì, Magritte, Picasso.... breathless experience

Definitely worth the visit. I enjoyed the exhibitions and collections very much. Expect to spend 1-2hrs in the museum. Tickets are available online.
