The Plaza Santa Ana is a nice little plaza with many tapas places nearby, most of them with local character and very traditional. The plaza also has the ME Melia, an avant garde hotel wth a very well known bar. There are many traditional shops in the area, such as shops selling clothing material for women who like to sew.

This plaza has great a great atmosphere. Even in the cold of February, everyone was out on the sidewalks eating or having a drink. It felt very safe.

We used to go to the Plaza Sta. Ana just to eat bocadillos outside on the sidewalk, 'cause they were tasty and went down great with a beer or red wine. But it was so noisy! It was under renovation and that and the traffic really detracted....BUT
now, renovations are done and it's lovely, really very nice. Our hotel was right on it (terrific location!) and when we went this last time it was fall, cool enough to go INSIDE all these eating establishments and have terrific tapas. Go! It's really fun!

Fantastik atmosphere and a lot of nice restaurants around. If you want to see all of Madrid you have to get on the roof top of the ME Madrid Reina Victoria Hotel at Plaza St. Ana. This is a great location at night.

This square is centrally located to many of Madrid's attractions, but more importantly has a wide variety of good bars and restaurants to choose. Tapas is available as are a la carte and set menus. The restaurant Tartufo was especially good with very professional and knowledgable staff who spoke perfect English. So many choices around this plaza and it is alive until very late.
