Owner description: The Prado has one of the largest art collections in the world, and is best known for its diverse assortment of works by Velasquez, Goya and El Greco.

This was my second visit to the Prado. The first time I rushed it.
This time I collected the map/plan available at the entrance hall at no extra cost, and steadily worked my way around. I went to all the rooms on the first level, including all the side rooms and annnexes, and the upstairs and downstairs rooms.
What an experience! A wealth of paintings, my favourites being by Goya and Ribera, sculptures, drawings and sketches. Absolutely fascinating. I studied many of the artworks for some time, on the initial floor and the one above.
After five hours, with a coffee break in the middle, my legs started to give out, and I had to call it a day. I hadn´t seen all the art on display.
I loved it, and will go again.

What can one say-- The Prado is one of the greatest museums in the world. I would suggest going on several visits if you can-- don't try to see everything all at one go.

Great place for a huge amount of culture! Pictures and sculptures are spectacular and the building itself is amazing. Make sure you have plenty of time and the audio guide is worth having. The amount of pictures etc is a bit daunting especially if you're not a culture vulture, but you can pick what you want to see without doing the whole museum. It is definitely worth going to.

Well worth the €12 admission fee for a few hours of art. The museum is huge, and within easy walking of the Retiro Park for a bit of fresh air afterwards,
