Went in for free after six in the evening and we were taken aback by some of the outstandings works of art on show, but not being connoisseurs we became bored quite quickly and it is a bit of a maze.

Ranks among the top art museums of the world, so take time to soak in it. Goya is great and if you like Rubens as much as I do, that alone is worth the trip.

Fantastic collections of masters. If you enjoy classical paintings, plan on about 3 hours, but if you are truly an art freak, can easily spend 6 hours or more here. The cafeteria is also very good for a museum, which is important when one is spending the whole day there. Audio guide is also very comprehensive and good.

World class museum competes with the best. Was close to our hotel and by buying a pass lines were avoided

Yes, a lot of pictures, by famous authors. The building is magnificent but chairs too much rare. To visit... only one time in the life.
