“A must-see”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

The Prado is my favourite gallery - yes, I HAVE been to the Louvre - because of the breadth of marvellous works. It helps that my favourite artists are Velazquez and Bosch, of course, as their best works are there. Check out the excellent Raphael and Caravaggio paintings, too.

“Love the late hours...”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

great artwork made better by the late hours (open until 8pm) and the fact it was free from 6-8. I've seen others complain about the long lines when free but it went quickly and the staff had a system to push half the guests one way and the rest of us another.

“Wow Breathtaking Art Pieces”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

My wife and I spent a full day at The Prado Museum in early October and were blown away by the thousands of masterpieces ranging from Goya, Diego, Velazquez and even Italian and Flemish painters, well worth spending a day in one of Madrid's special places.

“So Many Famous Paintings...”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

One of the most stunning art museums anywhere. Plan to arrive when the museum opens to avoid the huge crowds typical in the afternoon and during the last two hours which are free.

It's easy to become overwhelmed with all the famous artwork here. Consider downloading this free ebook about 250 of the most famous paintings made, starting with Renaissance paintings and including Pop Art paintings.

Sort the data by "art museum" to get must-see masterpieces in the Prado (as well as other major art museums throughout the U. S. and Europe). There are linked articles about these famous paintings and the artists who created them.

It is free at http://www.themasterpiececards.com/famous-paintings-ebook-new.
