What collection, so many to see. Be prepared and take a general view first ! Do not start with the first painting you see for you won’t reach the last one. Do know what you like to see for you can spend days here. And give it time. I enjoyed it greatly.

Wonderful museum with excellent temporary and permanent exhibitions. Well worth a visit; expect to spend 4 - 5 hours there. A word to the wise - buy your tickets either at the ticket station at the museum, or on the OFFICIAL website (museodelprado.es) - do NOT buy from museumdelprado.com. They will charge you double, and possibly charge you twice.

This museum itself is a treasure. It's also full of treasures. There are a several ways to see it. Plan an hour and see the highlights. Globally recognized masterpieces. Plan an hour to see Spanish masters like Goya. Or plan all day to soak up an epic offering of world famous art. The place is huge. Bring comfortable shoes. It's a maze, so use the maps to figure out where to go. The place is popular. I cannot imagine what the on-season crowds must be like. Plan your visit accordingly. Pace yourself. There is a cafe so take a break. And most importantly, don't just rush around. Take a minute and read about the art then really study it. It's a special place.

Not only is this beautiful 200 year old building worth a visit so is the amazing art worth appreciating. Do a private tour with a guide.

This is an easy building to walk around with good guides supplied allowing the visitor to choose easily which artists they want to see especially if time is limited. The museum cafe has a variety of snacks and light meals available. The art on show is wonderful and the building itself is beautiful.

It is no surprise this is considered one of the world's great museums. It lives up to it s accolades.Spent 3 hours there and not enough time. Recommend the rick steves guide to prado which was very helpful Just overwhelmed by the classics I read about and seen in books, but to see it in person is exhilarating.Give at least a half day just to see the basics.

The only thing I can say other than "breath taking" is that 6 hours is not enough time! We only covered level 2, where the Picasso permanent collection is housed. If you are a lover of modern art, buy a 5 day pass!

Upon advise of our host we took advantage of the free admission after 4p.m. Good opportunity to get a quick look at some of Spain's art treasures.

I am amazed by the size of this place and the amount of display. It seems that you would need a whole day to browse through. I wish that there were more sitting areas to rest.

This is a marvelous museum, we really enjoyed our visit. The Prado is one of the premier museum's in Europe, if not the world. It seems mainly devoted to 16th and 17th century. I had to look very closely to see that it wasn't actually lace, that's how good it was. The museum is huge and pretty overwhelming, but worth visiting.
