A little disappointing. After being at Salamanca's Plaza Mayor, it is going to be hard to impress me with a square. Very dirty, sour faced people, dark... the atmosphere has the same energy though. People having a good time, chatting and sitting on the floor. Cafés surrounding the Plaza. Outside the Plaza, around it you may find restaurants with over 100 years of existence.

I love visiting old town squares and Plaza Mayor did not disappoint. There are shops and restaurants/bars for everyone's tastes. Be sure to have a chocolate and churros while you sit, relax, and people watch.

Visited various shops, purchased an original painting painted right at the square by the painter. Of course, the visit is not complete without visiting the market. It have restaurants right on the plaza but the best restaurant are located outside such as Restaurante Botin and Las Cuevas de Luis Candelas both located at Cuchilleros Street.

this is a great place to eat to entertain, is was a bull fight ring in the past and now is an open area for dining or lunch or even just a beer... lovely
