Description: If you're looking for entertainment and good typical Mexican food, you just have to approach the High Street, a short walk from the Puerta del Sol, and find the restaurant El Chaparrito. Its decor is very colorful and its walls are paintings that recall the pre-Hispanic culture. Its varied menu, prepared with fresh ingredients and other imported premium is a rainbow of flavors, colors and flavors. Do not leave without trying their desserts and juices and typical cocktails. All with the lovely touch that characterizes cheerfully spicy Mexican food. Come to test your kitchen and enjoy a unique moment, accompanied by mariachis, while you receive a warm and special attention. Sure you spend an unforgettable time.

“Good? Really?”
Reviewed November 20, 2011

Very very disappointed Pinche Juerro...seriously.... pushing Mexican food for those who don't know better.

First of all I was raising my eyebrows at paying 8euros for nachos...and 9.50 for cheese and guacamole on them? Really? That's a good way to irritate me for starters.

Ambiance pretty nice- it's a tiny joint and you're going to get squeezed in...but that's fine....bright colors and good ambiance with Mana playing in the background....works well for an authentic Mexican meal.
The Margarita tasted like some kind of supermarket special....you'd think they'd be able to make a margarita without some cheap mix....especially that part of the restaurant has a bar in it.
Service was nice- no arguments here and the prices for the mains were fair.

We stayed with basics- Carnitas and chicken fajitas....chicken was well cooked...but seriously....I can cook chicken....Carnitas on the other hand....nasty. Tasted nothing like carnets I've ever eaten and I spent the evening trying to digest it....

“Pretty average despite good previous reviews”
Reviewed October 17, 2011

I thought the food was pretty average compared with other independent Mexican restaurants that I have eaten in. For some reason they did not have any beef, minced or otherwise. so I opted for the pork in local Mexican spices which was ok. However, I did not think that guacamole was supposed to be watery. The service was friendly enough and the waiter kindly provided a strangely translated menu in English but you got the idea of what was on offer.

“Great little Mexican”
Reviewed August 21, 2011

Bright decor, very tasty food, friendly atmostphere, English menu. Try the Crepa de Chocolata (A wonderful fried crepe with a plentiful amount of hot chocolate sauce, delicious vanilla ice-cream and crunchy fried dippers). Worth a visit is you like good Mexican.

“truly great mexican food in madrid”
Reviewed October 26, 2010

we were shocked at how great this little place was. we wanted to eat dinner before 8, as all the locals do. We were very apprehensive when walking in. They have an extensive tequilla bar, very extensive, and mexican beers. we had the best chicken verde enchaladas and that was a treat. this place shouldn't be missed.
