The pizza can be a bit uneven at times but the price is agreeable. You feel like you're eating in an office building, but the service is great and the food good value. For a country close to Italy, Spain likes to overprice and screw up Italian food -- this is not one of those places.

Looking for great, affordable Italian food ? Don't think twice, go to il Profumo !
Fantastic pizza and pasta !
Some extra wine options would be great though ... Also, the wine was served at too high a temperature.
Despite this, I can only recommend this place!

Quite busy restaurant, located very close to Plaza Mayor. Long and narrow room, not very intimate.

Bruchettas as starter. The standard one was good, and the bread was good. Not too impressed by the Artichoke one.

Good pasta, freshly made.

All in all, average Italian. Should not be as high on the list as it is...

If you are passing Il Profumo and if you really really want a pizza and particularly if it starts to rain, then yes. Give it a try.

However, the Pizza is very ordinary. The cheesecake is stodgy and tasteless and the acoustics in the dining area are so bad that you can hear every word of every conversation. I don't go into a restaurant to whisper!

...and there was nothign on the menu that screamed out 'good Italian restaurant' Very uninspiring.

And as I left, it started to rain, really heavily!

We visited this restaurant having seen the good reviews on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. As it was a Tuesday night the restaurant was quiet but very nice inside. Despite our poor Spanish, the waitress was very friendly and made good recommendations.

The food was very good especially the Melanzane Parmigiana starter. The pizzas were of a good standard and the lasagne was light and tasty.

At around £23 per person for three courses and wine we felt it was excellent value, especially compared to other places that we ate at in Madrid.
