“A reasonably priced comfortable apart hotel in a great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

We stayed for a week in Madrid at the Apartosuite Jardines de Sabatini. The staff was friendly and helpful, but we did not exercise their capabilities in English as we spoke Spanish. Our suite had a bedroom/dining room/kitchenette, with a small breakfast table, and a bathroom. The controls of the water flow and temperature are unlike any we had seen before and one should read the directions in the hotel folder or consider it a puzzle to be solved. The apartment was well appointed and comfortable and the TV set was adequate. The kitchen supplies were barely adequate and probably we could have requested more. We were not required to pay the ten-euro fee to unlock the cabinet. The daily maid service did not include the washing of the dishes, which could be ordered for an additional fee. The hotel is on a slope a few blocks from a subway station either way. Some tourist attractions were within walking distance and to others we went by subway, which we also used to reach the train stations for day trips to Toledo and Segovia. The reasonably priced buffet breakfast was great, it fulfilled well the description in the hotel folder. The view from the terrace on top was very nice and we were treated to a visit to the antique automobile collection, which was very interesting and much better than the description in the elevator suggested. There were three department stores El Corte Ingles within a mile radius of the hotel that have large supermarkets in the basement, where the staff was helpful but the merchandise could be deficient. The small OpenCor market at the shopping center next to the Principe Pio station was expensive and not well stocked.

Room Tip: We prefer a quiet apartment to the back, instead of the Palacio Real view.

This hotel offers fine value for the price. And because of the low rates, we splurged on a top floor suite with a grand view of the Palacio Real. Without that view and the genuine warmth of the staff, I might be less enthusiastic about the hotel. The decor is very basic and the standard of housekeeping was just acceptable. And the location is problematic. Yes, everything is walkable and there are metro stops nearby. But the hotel feels cut off from the rest of the city because of the configuration of the streets around it. So there are some trade-offs with this hotel and that is something first-time visitors might want to consider.

Room Tip: Splurge on a suite with a view of the Palace -- it's worth it and it's what makes this hotel...

I took one of my sons for a three night stay to Madrid and booked this hotel, largely on the basis of reviews on trip advisor. We were not disappointed! I had contacted the hotel prior to arrival to say I was claustrophobic and could they make sure I had a window facing outside. I also told them that my other son is autistic and that we were coming to Madrid for rest and recuperation. We were given a very warm and friendly welcome from Pedro and throughout our stay, the reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. We were given a great room facing the front of the hotel with a partial view of the Palace and a balcony. The room was fantastic - it was really spacious. The beds were SO comfortable. Everything worked which is often not the case in hotels. When I asked for an extra pillow, this was done quickly. There was a small kitchen area so we could make coffee and keep things in the fridge. The bathroom was lovely too - again, everything worked and there was plenty of hot water. Everything was clean and well-presented. We thought breakfast was good and the staff there were also very friendly and helpful. The only one slight complaint was that the room faced on to a very busy main road which was really noisy at night. The door to the balcony didn't seem to shut as tight as it could have which would have kept out some of the noise. However, we do live in a place where there is total silence at night so maybe this is a bit picky! The area felt a little dodgy at night as sadly there seem to be quite a few homeless people living around the area and quite a few heavy drinkers. But the location was great for getting around Madrid and it was lovely having the Palace opposite us. We went up to the roof top bar which unfortunately isn't open in the winter. But it must be LOVELY when it's open! All in all, we had a really brilliant time in Madrid and we are very pleased we picked this hotel.

Room Tip: Our room faced the front of the hotel and there was a lot of noise from a very busy main road into M...

We stayed here for a long weekend. We upgraded to a room with a balcony with views of the palace. The hotel room furnishings are of a high standard and again immaculately kept. The staff are so helpful and nothing is ever a bother. The location is excellent - five minutes walk right into the centre- so much to see and do in Madrid. We had breakfast on the first day which was freshly prepared and continually replenished. I highly recommend this hotel for all ages and would visit again if go back to Madrid. You won't be disappointed!
Remember to visit the vintage cars underneath the hotel - it's well worth it.

We stayed all over Spain for our honeymoon, and our last stop was Madrid before flying back. The staff at Apartosuites made our last night in Spain special, with a complimentary bottle of Spanish wine, roses and chocolates for my wife. What a surprise for her after a long day of walking the streets of Madrid. Upon relaxing in the suite overlooking the palace, we were amazed with the contemporary "New York City" feel. The bed was the most comfortable we slept on during our entire trip. All the other hotels left us sore the following day. Make sure you ask about the bed! Most are stiff as a piece of wood. Best of luck planning your trip, book with Apartosuites Jardines de Sabatini.

Fabulous stay in a prime location!
We stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed it so much that we had to return. The accommodation is spacious, clean and comfortable with splendid views. Breakfast is very enjoyable, with a wide variety of items to suit every taste. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Overall we had a brilliant time again. This hotel is my first choice in Madrid.

The place is up to date in style and delivers. It is a great place for a family to spend their holiday in Madrid, with a fully functional kitchen making cooking possible for fussy kids. The great plus is the availability of a varied and filling breakfast downstairs and comfortable beds.

Staff at the reception desk were especially helpful and welcoming. The view of the Royal Palace from the terrace is stunning. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Probably the back rooms are quieter ...
