“Perfect Place to Stay in Madrid”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

We booked into the Jardins de Sabatini as it has a roof terrae and a balcony along with cooking facilities. The apartment was superb and very big. The kitchen was good for the basic stuff we wanted to do (just breakfast really) and having a small balcony looking on the the Royal Palace was awesome.

The roof terrace was good for a quick drink before heading out and staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful. The collection of antique cars in the basement must be one of the best kept secrets in Madrid!

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a palace view and a Balcony.

The Apartment we stayed in was very clean and spacious, we had a 1 bed apartment with kitchen. They supply you with a Microwave and Kettle and so long as you pay a 10 euro refundable deposit all the crockery and cutlery etc. They didn't have an iron in the room or a toaster so I went to reception and they brought them up within minutes. We didn't eat breakfast here but a bit of toast and a coffee in the room was more than enough for us.
We missed the car Museum (I totally forgot about it)! The check in was really quick and efficient but I wish they'd have offered us the option of paying extra for a room with a view and I wish they'd have reminded us about the museum.
The Location is good, right in between 2 metro stops and a 5 min walk to the Palace. The roof terrace is AMAZING!!!!! The cocktails are a little on the expensive side but well worth it as they certainly don't scrimp on the spirits!
2 brilliant nights, would stay here again without question!

Room Tip: Ask at reception to see if they can upgrade you to a room with a view.

The rooms are clean and quite modern in style. Although small, they suited us perfectly on for a winter city break. The location is not perfect in terms of nightlife and although a stones throw from the palace, the entrance is down a dodgy-looking street. However, the roof garden views of the palace and the sabatini gardens are worth the room fees alone!

The staff were friendly and service was good.

Overall, if you're looking for good quality hotel with lots of frills, this is not for you. But if you're looking for a clean, modern, classy and very comfortable apartment with a stunning rooftop view as a base to explore the city, then book a room here.

We just got back from a 3 week trip all over Spain. Traveling with 2 children 2 and 5 years old, we prefer staying in apartments or vacation rentals but decided to give this hotel a try for the last part of our trip and I'm glad we did. It's always nice to have a restaurant on site, someone to help 24 hours and a room clean when u come home after a long day of sightseeing.

Although our check in was not as smooth as it could have been, the gentleman was quick to try to make up for it. The room was very spacious and clean. We paid extra $100 for a view and it was worth it! Although at check out they were trying to make us pay for it again... but thankfully the same gentleman that checked us in was there and remembered we had already paid. So it was all ok.

We had dinner at the beautiful lounge in the solarium (you need to book ahead). Great food and amazing views! We didn't try the breakfast at the hotel restaurant because we preferred to have it in our room or go out (much cheaper too). And we didn't have time to see the car museum... I actually forgot about it until the last day!

The location is really good too, right beside the palace, where you can find a tourist information booth, the city tour bus and other attractions. However this is at one edge of the downtown, so while it makes for a great start of your sightseeing day and everything is walking distance, once we were out it was difficult to come back, rest and go out again. But overall I would highly recommend it!!

We booked on the reviews read - we decided to try self catering - it worked there are local supermarkets at and across the road to PIO station - the junior suite was perfect - catering equipment sufficient - we asked for a top floor rear location for quiet and got it - the roof garden although we did not use was brill - the cost are higher than most but worth every penny - Madrid well that another story. Get the hotel to book you cab from the airport you will not be disappointed. Its central location means all the main areas are in walking distance.

Room Tip: If you can afford it book it.

We stayed 3 nights and found the accommodation perfect for exploring the city. The staff were very friendly and thoughtful. We were celebrating joint birthdays! Situated in between two metro's although we did lots of walking. The view from the roof terrace of the Palacio Real was amazing.

My wife and and I along with my 83 year old father traveled to Spain in late July,we stayed in Madrid for a day based on TripAdvisor reviews I went with ApartoSuites Jardines de Sabatini. The young lady that handled the whole transaction and checked us in was a delight and extremely accommodating to all of us. The location was a bit out of the beaten path but the views of the Palace were spectacular and well worth a relief from the tourist clamor of the Plaza Mayor. Our Suite with a bedroom for my wife and I was large and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well once it was turned on by us. However we did walk into a very warm suite that took a solid 45 minutes to actually cool down. The bathroom was large and accommodating for all of us. the view from the spacious windows was terrific.Parking was 20 Euros with plenty of availability and right underneath the hotel which made it extremely convenient. Restaurants and shop were a good walk down and up hill. Most attractions are a good 30 minute walk so if walking is not your thing forget it...My wife and I ate lunch at a corner restaurants with some outdoor tables that was ok for what it was.TV was all Spanish with a only a couple of English speaking news and financial Channel. We did not try breakfast but we did go for drinks to the terrace and enjoyed a wonderful evening with a jaw dropping view of the Palace. The WIFI was excellent on our first visit but our second visit in August on our way home WIFI was horrendous. The staff was different the second time around and didn't seem as friendly and eager to please. All in all I would consider staying at the Jardines de Sabatini on my next trip to Spain (possibly).I may opt out for something closer to Puerta del Sol..

Room Tip: Choose a junior or full suite on high floor with a view of the palace..
