“Good meal; good service”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

We tried the seafood paella with a bottle of wine and were not disappointed. Service was courteous and efficient. I agree that the patrons were mainly tourists, but it was a very rainy night so the locals may just have been smart and stayed home!

“Touristy with good paella”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

The paella is good and the service is attentive and courteous. The rest is unsatisfactory. In particular the crème brûlée was bad, burned. Too touristy.

“Paella!”
Reviewed December 24, 2012

You should order paella Marisco with seafood. The meal is huge and you will really enjoy it. Be aware since this is a local place - you should speak some Spanish or at learn how to order in Spanish at least.
This place is great if you want to see how locals eat, drink, talk over their meal.

“Excellent and authentic food”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Good manners and they are very friendly to their customers. The food is excellent and you get very full after a nice dinner at the restaurant.

“Keep just the paella. ONLY...”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

I had the suspicion that this restaurant might be a tourist trap, but I decided to give it a try because of my love for paella. My suspicions proved to be almost true.
The place is very neutral and uninterested. The service is rather unfriendly or (better say) ice-cold. The bread was like a tasteless white foam. On the other hand, the paella proved to be very tasty and generous in size (always consider orders for at least 2 persons) BUT it was overpriced.
If you can find another restaurant in Madrid with good paella, just go for it and ignore Paella de la Reina
