The hotel was ok. The bedroom wasn't bad, but the beds were a little bit uncomfortable. The worst part was the breakfast! It had never happened to me... The coffee tasted like rotten lemon juice (???) and the milk was also weird. The artificial orange juice was the worst I ever tasted. The bread and the cakes were dry. I only drank water and ate toasts with butter with some scrambled eggs. It was by far the worst breakfast I had in a hotel. And I've been to many...

This is the second time I have stayed at the Florida Norte.Last year when I came here we were made very welcome.Well this year we got mr grumpy who I think did not like the English.he made us feel so unwelcome not helpful at all.It took 5mins to explain we wanted to use the safe in the room at a charge of 2€ a day.The room was not suitable so I went back to the front desk and spoke to someone else to ask for a change of room which they done.when we got the change we noticed the bath was in a bad state, bad crack in the bathroom floor ,hand Basin was all cracked then in the room an electric socket was hanging off the wall.again the staff were not helpful no one told us what time breakfast was or where to go. I could not get the Wi-Fi in the room to connect so I asked them about it and I got told that it only works in the lobby. Then when I tried to check in for my flight home I had to keep signing in to it.
None of the staff could even say good morning only 1 person did and that was on our last day at breakfast. If I ever return to Madrid I would never stay at this hotel again. The staff need to do a customer service course on how to be polite and helpful.

Room Tip: Don't ask for a room on the front of the hotel .

This was our first time in Madrid. This hotel has an excellent location in front of the Principe Pio metro station. It also has a shopping center just in front of the hotel with many good restaurants, fast foods, cafes, bars, ATM's and stores. There is a supermarket very near at walking distance with good prices, specially on bottled water and snacks. The hotel is big, good, clean, but is a little outdated, specially the lobby and the bathrooms in the rooms. The air condition was very poor, it didnt work efficiently. The mattresses needs to be changed for a better quality. The hot breakfast which was included is acceptable, but it will be better if they serve real scrambled eggs instead of the artificial scrambled eggs they served.

A/C won't work in our room. It's hot outside at 93 Celsius. Called front desk, he sends technician. Technician checked twice and says a/c works okay?????? Really ????
Called front desk guy again to come take a look for himself. And he finally agrees the a/c is not working.
They need to change the technician who is such a big liar!!!!!!!

We stayed in this hotel for one night with my friends. The number 707 is awful. Wifi does not always work. When we talked about this issue, they said to us that the hotel is crowded (Funny answer). There is also no minibar at room. Moreover, toilet includes some problems.

We stayed for two nights. Just in front of a shopping center, supermarket and restaurants. Very busy street. If you like to walk, you can get to la Gran Via in 20 or 30 minutes. Bus and train stop just in front of the hotel. Clean and good bed. Good food but worst coffee ever at breakfast time. Excellent customer service, nice staff. I haven't been in other hotels in the area, so I cannot compare. I will stay there again but will find a place to drink good coffee in the morning. Hope they change those old automatic coffee machines!

In terms of the comments on the "4 stars" status, I learned that in Italy hotels are "4 stars" if they have elevators instead of only stairs. It is different from USA "4 stars" status.

Room Tip: Ask for first floor so you don't have to take the elevator with the bags, easy to get in and out...
