This restaurant was a very sad disappointment. Perhaps others are also coming round to this view as the restaurant (plastic covered eating area, plastic chairs etc) was practically empty. Your impression on entering is that prices must be reasonable in such a locality. However, you are not offered a menu and there is no way of knowing that you will end up being charged 49€ just for for the most basic paella. You cannot help feeling you have been ripped off big time. The paella is very salty with no hint of saffron, slightly under-done and consists only of rice with a very few tiny morsels of fish which have all the appearance of coming out of a freezer packet. The ingredients could not have cost more than a few euros. However, we enjoyed watching the crunchy bits of rice being scraped off the pan and the dish being prepared for us. The fish starters were equally over priced. We didnt bother to try the deserts. This restuarant appears to be trading on a very mis-placed reputation. Its prices are those of a very good restuarant in central Madrid which it certainly is not.

I was very disappointed by this resturant. They serve Spanish paella and it is not bad but the price is exhorbinant. They "burn" the paella a little to make the rice crunchy and a lot of people like that. I was also dispapointed how they "recommend" a plate of shrimp to start with but dont give you the price. Once you get the bill, you are shocked. The restuarant itself is small but they have an outdoor patio which is covered. Still, it is shoddy contruction.

I normally would have given two stars but I want to give only one because I feel the other reviews are exaggerated here. It is NOT worth it. Spaniards will go because the restaurant is a place to be seen now. But a tourist will have to travel (it is not in the center, it is in the north of Madrid about 40 minutes by metro), and it is simply not worth it.

My husband had already dined at Samm on a previous trip and could not wait to take me there when returned. It was so amazing! We started off with calamari, delicious! And then the paella arrived...Mouthwatering, delicious, I can still taste it! I will definitely be back if and when we return to Madrid!

Undoubtedly the best place to eat rice in paella in Madrid (and probably one of the top 5 in Spain).
Surprisingly enough, it is very very difficult to get a well prepared rice in paella. Maybe a couple or three places around Valencia and Alicante, Samm in Madrid, and.., that is all.
