“First time, great time”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

I think the owners of this small, nice & vintage restaurant have no need for any review nor much advertising. They know their products and they have their captive clientele, the place is always packed.

So, in short, small french bistro (when i say small we were the table of 6 and were very tight all other table were for 2). I had the foie gras & for seconds the steak tartare was awesome. Lots´of wine, romantic atmosphere (that day we got a guy to took mariachis to his girl, they were not loud), I´m not big on dessert but my friends enjoyed....but it´s not cheap, we actually booked it with a special discount on "El Tenedor" and it wasn´t that expensive but without it you´d be looking at a 70euros meal...I´ll go back for a special occasion.

“The old world classic intimate 4-table French restaurant you've been looking for!”
Reviewed November 28, 2012 via mobile

It is quaint and classy, old world comfy without being stuffy. A tiny place that makes you feel like a gentleman traveller in the 19th century.
The chef, an affable man in his tall white chef's hat, greeted us and went over our options, and even added a few of his own. We had coupons for a fixed fondue menu and he generously let us assemble our own meals from the others.
There was nothing daring and nouvelle going on: an excellent onion soup, a goat cheese salad just right, a curious and tasty salad of cured (duck?) gizzards, and some decent paté started off our feast. Main course: we followed his wise advice that a fondue for four would be a bit excessive, so we had one for two (it fed four), a pastel de rillettes and an extraordinary confit de canard that brought tears to my eye as i re-discovered the greatness of this French classic. The fondue was delicious, perhaps a bit too much wine went into it but that did keep its consistency light.
Dessert included crepes with grand marnier, inkeeping with the classics.
The house wine was delicious; the selection on the wine menu very limited to the classics of La Rioja and Ribera de Duero, also fitting the classic leitmotif.
We ate everything on our plates--every morsel-- and left the restaurant very full indeed.
If you're looking for splash and bravado in the kitchen, trendy decor or happening music, try elsewhere. But if you need some real, reliable greats of French cooking, so hard to find in Spain, this is a First Choice. I could easily become a monthly regular here.
