Myself and everyone in our office uses Rajs - the food is freshly cooked, authentic and at great prices. He never fails to deliver great food when you want it. The new extension also means there is a nice space to eat in should you wish to do so.

Raju's culinary skill is reflected in his authentic Indian dishes. His menu comprises your standard fare and other more unusual dishes like his renown Chicken Afghani! Parking is easily available thus making it ideal for a casual takeaway. Give him a try and I can assure you he won't dissapoint !

Raj’s Curry House is located behind five of Gibraltar’s most luxurious and expensive restaurants on Queensway Quay. It is both a take-away and a small restaurant. Visitors to Gibraltar will use the restaurant whilst residents will order and take-away.

Raju Surti was the head chef for many years at The Maharajah restaurant in Queensway Quay. Earlier this year he decided to go it alone, left the restaurant which subsequently closed down, and opened Raj’s Curry House.

The order is cooked whilst you wait and the client can either sit outside and enjoy the sun or take a stroll along the quay and look at the array of motor and sailing yachts moored in the marina.

The preferred taste on the Rock is for creamy korma type dishes and a hot curry is the exception.

I ordered a chicken Jalfrezi ( £ 5.30 ) and asked for it to be hot. This instruction was complied with and was one of the best Jalfrezis ever eaten and that includes this dish from restaurants in Brick Lane, London. Plain rice is a mere £ 1.30.

As a change I also ordered chicken Malayam which was sweet , pineapple, interposed with a hot unidentifiable spice. This combination produced an unique flavour. Delcious.

As well as all the traditional favourites Raju Surti serves Saag chicken (£5.30 ), chicken Kashmini Sweet (6.30), and chicken Methi (6.75).

Six fish curries are served and 15 vegetable dishes.

This is one of the best if not the best curry house on the Rock. Highly recommended.
