Took some finding but worth the search-Not well signposted. Warm welcome by the waiter who was very helpful. Quick service and lovely attitude. Interesting modern décor in an old part of the defensive wall. Food was good and wine also very pleasing. What made this such an enjoyable meal was the pleasant atmosphere and the pride the staff took in trying to please.
Good value.

Been there twice now and both times food service and atmosphere have been great. Visited early, about 8 o'clock so not sure how it would be later on. Small and cozy place. Typical Italian menu with varied dishes. Good wine with good prices.

Considering previous reviews I found this place a total let down. I and my wife have just left the restaurant on a quiet Tuesday evening. We had really been looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately I can't find a good thing to say. We waited 45 minutes (and yes I am in the habit of exact timings) for a lacklustre brace of pizza, there were only about eight other covers being served. Mine, a diavola , was simply a marguerita with a piece of spicy pepperoni on each slice. The chef had to go out to purchase tomato purée whilst we were waiting! Surely a standard for an Italian restaurant? Customer service was non existent with no thank you for payment. On the plus side there was a lovely little aperitif from the house. There are no toilets actually in the restaurant but it is decorated very well. Oh and the place appears to be full of Mosquitos so bear that in mind if you visit.

Browsing tripadvisor before a recent romantic visit to Gib, (wedding anniversary) I came across Casa Brachetto and decided to give it a try. My wife and I booked a meal for Friday 21 June and it was a good job we did. The place was packed, a little too noisy with a party of 29 celebrating vigorously. We asked to be moved to an outside table but were politely informed ALL tables were reserved.

The restaurant is located in Chatham Counterguard, a quiet side road a few minutes walk from Casemates Square. There are a few pavement tables but expecting a windy evening, we asked to be seated inside. The restaurant is set in a former military fortification (stone walls etc) but with imaginative modern décor, comfortable tables and chairs and a traditional Italian bar at the far end.

The food was excellent, we had a spicy king prawn starter and an aubergine/cheese bake, with home made bread. To follow, we hade the special, sea food pasta with a superb bottle of Italian white wine (amazingly, the house wine at a very modest price). We planned to have deserts, but the decibel level was increasing to danger levels, so left earlier than planned.

Top tip: if you plan to eat there Friday or Saturday evenings, BOOKING ESSENTIAL.

Living in Spain, we visit Gib. regularly (mostly day trips for shopping) and plan to give Casa Brachetto a try for lunch on our next visit. Hopefully, quieter and more relaxing but with just as good food. Certainly recommend this place.

Booked dinner here having read the positive reviews & we were not disappointed. As it was a Tuesday evening the restaurant was quiet which suited us as we understand at weekends it's extremely busy. We decided to skip starters but could not resist sharing a bruschetta which was delightful. We both ordered one of the specials which were both outstanding & we have to agree with the restaurant information that the pasta they use is one of the best. The price was extremely reasonable especially as the quality is so high.
I would highly recommend this restaurant but make sure you book as it is small. If you are visiting Gibratar don't miss it!!
