“Review of the Rock Bastion restaurant/bar on the ground floor.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2014

As the Rock Bastion restaurant doesn't have an entry in trip advisor, I am just going to have to put this here. This review focusses on it. Kings Bastion itself is a great little place, bowling is good, little ice skating rink and the only English cinema for miles.

You've got the Rock Bastion restaurant on the ground floor, which also extends to an outside area near the new coach park. The food there is pretty good, extremely well prices and you get massive portions. Huge belly busting burgers for practically nothing, sat outside in a good open space with shielding from the wind and plenty of sunshine. Its great.

What lets it down is the utter shower of crap that they have employed to serve you at these tables. You have to go in to place your order, (and I hope you can speak Spanish because they cant speak English!) Food will come out in a timely manner, and despite the guy walking past your finish plates 5 times, it won't click with him that you might want them taking away.

It is a 2 minute walk from major office blocks and right next to a coach park, in a central location, yet this place is practically empty at lunchtimes. Because its an effort to get service. It's like they just don't care. There are so many unemployed people in the area who would be grateful to have a job. But not the people in here. It's like they don't want you to even be there.

It's a shame because the food is good! The seating and location is great! But it's just let down by the worst service I have ever seen in Gibraltar.

“A good night out!”

Ten Pin Bowling in what was the former Kings Bastion Power Station, state of the art facilities, spotlessly clean. Eat in the 'on site' café afterwards or go upstairs and take in a movie...

“Great bowling fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

This place is never busy so you can always get a lane. What I like is the building, an old fort converted really well with a cinema and ice rink too. There are lots of little caverns round the side with restaurants, pool, arcades etc.
Definitely a good afternoon out and well recommended.
