Was given a local recommendation for Nisio. We got a taxi from the port 6euro . Nisio strikes me as a restaurant whose motto could be it is what it is .Come in get fed well at a reasonable price go home happy. We were waited on by a lovely waitress with perfect English. They have no written menu so we left everything to her. First she brought out a crab each followed by a platter of prawns a platter of razor clams a platter of barnacles and then squid
It was all served with a basket of bread and chips
We also had a bottle of home made wine. The total bill for the two of us was 66 euro. Nisio is a very friendly place to visit and judging by the amount of local people eating popular as well

This is a bar/ restaurant without any luxuries, specialized in sea food and known for its good price-quality relationship. It is located in a not very pretentious neighborhood near the port. They have no parking lot; if you come by car you have to park in the street, which is usually not easy as there is little space.
There is no written menu but you are told what food they serve by the waiter (I do not know if anyone there speaks English, but would not be surprised if they only spoke Spanish and Galician, so you should know at least one of these languages, or Portuguese, if you go there). As they have no printed menu you do not know the prices, but they use to be reasonable.
They also serve meat, which we did not try. Their specialty is “arroz con bogavante” (rice with lobster), which is served in a big, hot earthen bowl; the rice is quite juicy and tasty. When we went there with our family we also tried fried navajas (razor clams), small calamares (squid) cooked with their ink and onions, and small cooked prawns (gambas), which were all fresh and tasted good.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is that of a lower middle class home; decoration is Spartan and the tables are distributed in several smaller rooms that you reach going up stairs (no elevator) after passing the bar and some tables at the entrance. There is one bathroom for all, which was clean and quite spacious. All the employees seem to be part of the same family.
Service was at an acceptable speed.
It is recommended to make a reservation in advance as it is usually full. If you want to eat “arroz con bogavante” (rice with lobster) you also need to call in advance as it takes some time to prepare this dish.
In general it is a place we can recommend if you want to eat fresh sea food or fish without spending too much money and if you are not put off by the simple settings (indeed, some people might find them “different” and “interesting”).

Simple restaurant, actually more like a tavern, nothing exciting about the place, the location, the decoration....but...if what you really want is to be delighted by the amazingly fresh sea food, this is the place to go. The superb King Crab (Centolla) is outstanding.
