If you want to explore the old town this is a great location. Rooms not huge but this is a boutique style hotel. Fernando and his father are the friendliest hosts we have come across. On arrival Fernando ensured we were fully informed of the area and recommended bars and restaurants. Rooms at the front rather noisy, particularly at the weekend, as two local bars right on your doorstep but if location and the heart of the old town is important this is an excellent choice. Thank you Fernando for being an excellent host.

Recently stayed here for 3 nights . Small hotel in the old Town, everything is accessible from it . First impression was it smells so clean and the room was smaller that expected . The bathroom was a good size . Once settled in, the room was fine . We were at the from so a bit of noise , particularly on the Friday night but it was all finished by 12 . I would suggest ear plugs if you are a light sleeper but it does not detract from the hotel . Host are lovely , breakfast is , as others say, simple but enough to get you going for the day . If you want any information about anything just ask . Bed and everything was very comfortable .

Room tip: 03 on each floor is front facing so you get the noise but also a small balcony . Balcony was enough to override the noise

We worth staying at this friendly, small hotel in the old town. Conveniently located to the old town attractions it has small but very nice rooms, a very friendly helpful reception, good bathroom facilities and a simple but nice breakfast.

When in Vigo, forget what you know about luxury hotels that exist in every other destination, your usual cultural pursuits of museums and cathedrals, plus beaches crowded with sun-seekers. One goes to Vigo for something else, something intangibly peaceful and special.

Along with the Cies Islands, Puerta Gamboa is a treasure. The father and son duo will greet you with charm, rustle up a tasty breakfast to order of scrambled eggs accompanied by fruit, plus provide you with suggestions and printed itineraries of nearby cities to visit. The hotel is in the historic area of Vigo, a few minutes from the famous seafood-festooned alley and the marina, as well as the high street which is well-served by buses.

We were given a clean balcony room overlooking a quiet alley instead of a nearby hipster bar, an extra bed in your room for our child and heaps of hospitality. An unexpected bonus: fantastic water pressure equals super showers and luxurious baths.

Stayed here on the Portuguese Camino and had an excellent experience. The owners son Nando went out of his way to help and I noticed this for other perigrino’s too. Excellent hotel with top class facilities. Perfect central location in the old town.
