The place is just 50 mt from the Santiago Cathedral, in a very nice street.

The food is very, very good, especially the octopus. We've also add meat and it was delicious too.

The staff was very nice and the service was simple and professional.

A bit pricey, but not that much.

Had 2 dinners there with my wife June 09 and 10, 2013. Freshly prepared food at good value. We especially liked rice with Mussels and clams, and clams in a very tasty slighty spicy sauces (almejas las caracoles), and grilled whole pulpo (octopus) with potatoes.

As part of the hospitality offered by a music promoter the band and crew I was part of were treated to Los Caracoles, in Santiago and it was worth the small side trip round this beautiful city. As our last but one meal as a group it needed to be 'speciale' and it was - I had steak done to perfection but it was the 'hors d'ouvres' that stole the show. Humple side dishes prepared very well accompanies by a Riberra of excellent vintage. Many make the pilgrimage to Santiago as part of a religious trek, but I would say this little restaurant, one of many in the same street, has to be a highlight.

We ate lunch at Los Caracoles on a cold Monday afternoon in April. We were seated immediately, and the owner, noting our language difficulties, came over to personally explain the menu del día and the sides. We ordered a bottle of the house Rioja which was young, but decent. The food however was delicious. We started with a generous basket of Galician bread, and then an order of seafood stuffed piquillo peppers. I highly recommend them as well as the grilled toasts with red peppers and goat's cheese (can't remember the name). One of our party of four ordered the grilled pulpo (octopus) at the owner's suggestion and it was a hit with everyone! Definitely a must try, since it has a completely different texture and flavor than the traditional pulpo al gallego. The rest of us ordered the menu del día, with the hearty Caldo Gallego, and pork tenderloin. Our dessert was Torta de Santiago: moist, delicious and a perfect end to a happy lunch.

We found this lovely family run restaurant on the last day of our holiday. We had a flight at 3pm so were looking for a place to have an early lunch. The owner was friendly and helpful and his wine recommendations were excellent. We had croquettas, gambas, pork shoulder, mushrooms with ham and patas and all were outstanding.
We were sorry to rush off but we are returning in September when we will have a more leisurely meal.
Definitely worth seeking out
