After a few weeks in galicia, we were looking for a change from the standard tourist fare. Casa Marcelo appeared to fit the bill. I was quite surprised when I saw a big communal table and some bar seating. Not that I mind meeting new people but more that the sitting on a high chair crammed in with other people, none of whom seemed interested in interacting with other people is not my idea of a good time. The menu seemed to be made up of expensive small snack items. The food was actually incredibly tasty and the staff very friendly. But how this restaurant made it up to number 2 in Santiago totally escapes me.
