All the food is deep fried, and the boss was shouting to his employees.

“Do NOT get sucked in! Horrible!”
Reviewed August 5, 2011

This place was recommended by our hotel. We walked by on a Friday night and saw the 9 Euro prix fix and got sucked in! BIG MISTAKE -- DON'T DO IT! While the food ingredients where solid and the portion sizes generous, the food preparation at Casa Manolo was TERRIBLE to the point that I only ate a quarter of my meal. Pluses to this place: free bottle of water and decent bread. Downsides: food prep is sloppy which makes for unappetizing, inedible dishes. Our party of three ordered for our first dishes, the lentil soup (which was good my family member reported), the croquetas with meat (marginal) and green beans (overcooked to a pulp -- think here back to your school cafeteria days). For our second dishes we ordered the chicken (over cooked) with potatoes and pork kabobs (deep fried and inedible) with salad and potoates. The pototates (thick chips) that came with both of these dishes were soggy and oily rather than crisp and the salad that accompanied the kabobs was a mere piece of lettuce. For dessert we all settled on the Tarta de Santiago, which was (thankfully) edible and even good. Manalo's service was decent enough, though I did witness my server scream at one of the other servers and place two dishes in the microwave for reheating (thankfully not one of ours). In general the servers seemed overstretched -- they ran around like mad (literally bumping into clients) and the meals from the kitchen kept piling up on the bar, sitting there way too long before finding their way to tables. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back here. I encourage you to spend your money elsewhere -- Bispo, Casa Rosalia or Casa Felisa for starters.

“Best value in S de C”
Reviewed June 16, 2011

We remembered this restaurant from our previous Camino trip in 2001 and we were glad to find it for another visit. It has only improved with time. Most other restaurants we visited were over priced tourist traps, offering poor service and mediocre food to the hordes of visitors. This fine restaurant is an outstanding exception.

“Very good value for money”
Reviewed April 4, 2011

All three in our group commented on how for 9 euros this restaurant could provide the menu choices that they did. It's not the most romantic or intimate of venues, but when full has a buzz. The food although not high cuisine was well cooked and of quality. The hake and sole was excellent and fresh. The set dessert was either a crepe with cream or an ice cream cone, but this could be forgiven in view of the two earlier well prepared courses. The house red wine was not for my palate but overall I would throughly recommend to others who were looking for well cooked food on a budget.

“Excellent food and service!!”
Reviewed December 1, 2010

We took a girl only trip a few weeks back and stopped by Manolo's for lunch. The menu was extensive, the waiters were fabulous and the portions were HUGE for only 9 euro for the menu of the day!! The six of us had lunch and 2 bottles of white wine for 54 euros total! You can't beat that anywhere...so we ate lunch there the next day too! Same fabulous food and service, and they were super busy with a tour group...but the service did not change. Casa de Manolo's deserves 10 stars!
